Hi Glos,

I am not sure what you need. Do you have a question about your labs? If so, your doctor should explain them to you. Please let us know what you are asking.

Hi

My GP says these results are absolutely fine, but im experiencing all those terrible symptoms listed above

My question was should I be concerned about any of those results to they hint at kidney disease???

Thanks

Sounds like a circulation problem...have you asked your doctor about that ?

Hi

could I ask what in particular suggests that, just so I can go back to my GP and be a little more forceful with him

Thanks in advance

Know your symptoms and test results can be concerning. On our forum we are not able to diagnose. Hope your Doctor is able to diagnose your health condition properly. Maybe an appointment with another Doctor for a second opinion would be in order.

Hi Glos,

No they are not absolutely fine. You are presenting with some readings above normal, such as your Uric Acid. What is your GFR? I am not talking about the reading you give us already. The fact that you are having the symptoms you are expressing would suggest that you need further testing. I would be very concerned about your doctor.

I missed off my creatinine results which also came back high

! Serum creatinine 105 umol/L 59.00 - 104.00umol/L

Should I seek a second opinion from another GP???

I I would seek a second opinion. Agree with Kumar. Get a urine test to check proteinuria and hematuria. It might take time to get into another doctor so in the meantime You can always get those tests done on your own by finding a local lab that allows self tests. We have several in our area that don't require a doctor's order, but you do have to pay out of pocket a small fee.

You might have sleep apnea. You should get tested for it as you have some of the symptoms - wake up feeling tired, day time sleepiness, etc.. Anemia doesn't necessarily have those symptoms; however, if you were breathless after walking up a flight of stairs would more suggest anemia. Anemia - is a simple blood test - is your hemoglobin normal? Remember, we're not doctors and can't make diagnoses on this forum, but can suggest that you get tested for certain things.

I have severe anemia as a side effect of my chronic kidney disease. In fact, the anemia was evident when I had normal function with my data (my creatinine was still in the normal range) before I was officially diagnosed with CKD).

What is your hemoglobin data?

There is, thankfully, treatment for anemia. But my doctors didn’t begin treatment for me until my hemoglobin fell below 10.0 For me this happened when my creatinine was 1.1 and my eGFR was 49. At that point they started me on a Procrit, an injection.

Now I’m no longer given Procrit. Instead I take an oral medication three times a day. It’s technically a phosphorous binder. But it also has iron in the medication. It’s called auryxia.

However, without treatments, my hemoglobin would be no higher than 5.6 and I would literally not even be able to go from lying to sitting in bed without becoming winded.

I believe all my blood cell counts came back normal previously though I don't have to hand

So for you was the fatigue the worst symptom?

Thanks

For my anemia it was a combination of extreme fatigue and difficulty exercising. I was winded a lot. But very, very tired all the time. And I was also very cold all the time as well. I remember getting quilts out and cuddling up under them with the heat turned up to 80 degrees in my house.

That's why you see old people wearing three sweaters on a warm summer day.

Your symptoms do not sound like kidney disease to me...I am more concerned with the puffiness and pain in your calves...the fatigue ....muscle pain..I would make sure your doctor knows these symptoms and sends you to be checked further....keep us posted
