Hello all! It's been a while and I have some news! My step sister was just approved today to be my kidney donor and we can move forward with transplant! That being said, I also had a hazy bag while draining today and was diagnosed with Perotinitis, which is an infection of the Perotineal lining of the abdomen. Thankfully, it's early onset, so it was caught early and I won't end up getting seriously sick, but this also comes after having a lot of abdominal and constipation issues that have always been a problem for me, so it was hard to swallow.

Basically, today was a rollercoaster of emotions since everything hit in a matter of hours. I'm still in shock of it all; the transplant that will be happening in just a few short months and the fact that I still got what could have been a serious infection despite working my butt off to prevent it. I already know that my nephrologist is upset that I stopped the Linzess for my constipation since it left me utterly dehydrated and unable to go to the bathroom for days, and I'm nervous that my Perotinitis is just going to be proof of that. However, I also know that I did everything that I could, and considering the circumstances for my issue in the first place (it is a long story y'all), I'm hopeful that it won't affect things too much.

Anyhow, that's all I got for now! I will keep you all updated on the transplant situation and how things pan out! Please send good vibes/prayers/juju! Thanks!

Wow that's amazing on getting your donor match and you soon will not have to worry about dialysis. It's not great you've got an infection but at least you've got on top of it quickly.

Keep us posted on your transplant date and how it all goes.

So happy for you !! I was a donor for my husband 8 years ago. Please tell your step sister that the operation was not a difficult one. Mine was done with laparoscopy procedure and I was home in 2 days at the age of 64. Best wishes to you and your step sister !!!!

I'm so happy for you..

Going on the transplant list in February..

My brother matches my O negative blood type..

We're not sure if he matches the tissue or not..

He needs a physical to see if he can..

He has high blood pressure too..

He has until February to decide..

I am looking and excited about getting a new kidney..

Hopefully I'll feel so much better with it..

I am so very excited for you!

Please stay well my friend and stay on this forum..

I know I need you very much for my moral support..

You have helped me through a lot of mental stress and gave me hope to keep fighting..

May God continue to and always Bless you forever and always.m

Just to forwarn you, the transplant team won't accept a donor with high blood pressure. They need to be able to keep it in a normal range without meds. Hopefully he can manage it so he can donate! If he isn't able to, please don't become discouraged! It happened to me with 3 of my donors.

Since you're siblings, you should have at least a 50% match for tissue typing, which will work in your favor! I'm confident that you will feel much better as well. Personally, I'm nervous about how my transplant will affect me given my complex medical history. Everything's intertwined and my body has only functioned with a damaged kidney, so only time will tell how well it works out.

Thank you for your response! I really hope that you keep everyone posted as well.
