Got lab results today, GFR went up from 47 six months ago to 53!!! I have stage 3 CKD, very shocked and happy

I’m not sure really, I cut out milk, eat plenty of blueberries, apart from that I have no idea, my diet has always been pretty good, no red meat or sodas, rarely any type of junk food, we eat mostly chicken, vegetables, salads etc but that was normal, wish I knew.

That is great ! Mine went up from 50 to 53 and I don't have to go back to doctor for 8 months .

That's good news. Remember your GFR is just a snapshot so stick with your diet and exercise program and watch your medications. Eight months will take you through the rest of summer, through fall and winter (almost), so be sure your exercise program is something you can do in inclement weather. Also, you'll be entering another cold and flu season so be sure your immunizations are current.
