Almost afraid to share ...

I have a copy of my lab work and want to share, but being new to stage 3 ckd, not sure if anyone can tell me not to worry. I'm a 77 yo female, married, non smoker with a long history of high blood pressure. One month ago, I started on a very strict diet, no dairy and have lost 12 lbs. My b/p fell to normal and have no more swelling in my ankles.

Here is a partial list of my crazy "numbers".

Creatinine = 1.6, NAA GFR = 41, AAGFR = 47 , ALT=15, Glucose=92, Vit D= 28.9

More results on request :)

Serum Creat. should be between .55 and 1.3. Yours is slightly higher. Remember this, some labs will use slightly different ranges so try not to stress too much. Your GFR is in the Stage 3 area where you knew it would be. Glucose should be between 74 and 106. Yours is right there. Vitamin D for you was 28.9 and yours (age, gender) should be 30-100 which is optimal.

Sounds great to me. Keep to your diet and enjoy the upcoming holiday.

All looks good to me. My creat is generally 1.6 and my gfr 41, as well. Remember that creatinine is a point in time measurement so if you went in to your labs dehydrated, for example, that could also affect that number. Keep up the good work caring for your health!

It is possible with prescribed diet and exercise to help for the long term for many of us on CKD . Keep on your prescribed treatment. To me it can be frustrating at times but is well worth it. Your blood work is important for tracking and to see where you are at, but how you feel is just as important. Know I do feel better since on treatment regimen. Hang in there. Have a good Thanksgiving.

Thanks orangecity21, I am tired but determined. Getting hubby to cut back is helping me too. i know being more active will help both of us. He's 81 but has more energy than I do. Let's all give thanks and have a productive weekend. One day at a time :)
