NHS choices advises to have a small snack (100 calories) after exercise, but I exercise in the morning so have breakfast straight after.

I am sure it's about finding out what works for you. Good luck

Hi shelan,

That's often what I do. An exercise session and then breakfast and out to work.

I've never had any problem with that at all.

Good luck with your weight loss efforts.

Yes, if it works for you then yes. Your body is lowest in glycogen after you wake up. Glycogen is used for energy by your body. Carbs produce glycogen and it is stored in your liver. So the first meal of the day should be a carb based meal. Porridge, good old fashioned simple cheap porridge is ideal. None of the fancy stuff that costs a fortune just plain old rolled oat flakes. Make with water if you want to lose weight. Add some blueberries and a little honey, a pinch of cinnamon and you have a very healthy breakfast. So simple.
