I am writing a dissertation at the end of years of studying (as a very mature student) and working.

But to put off doing it because I am bored I keep getting up and eating, rather than just getting on with it.

I have a family wedding this summer and really want to lose weight for it, I have started doing the C25K which I love, but need to lose weight for my knees sake. Spoke to a podiatrist the other day that said the when you land on running the force on your foot is three times your body weight!!!

I am beginning the fourth week of the C25K and have only lost a few pounds so am going to really look at my intake this week , I think I am eating the right things but like others have said its potions I’m getting wrong.

Today is Monday, I have the day off and the sun is shinning! So so hard to stay in and work these sunny days are few and far between and the dog needs a walk, and have realised that I started writing this blog when I logged on to study!!!

Hi Lottalotta,

Perhaps do the discertation and then get on the weight loss bus. I think that's what I would do.

As for the weight loss, lot's of good free advice on the NHS live well lose weight pages including a free 12 week plan and a BMI calculator plus stuff about nutrition, diets, etc., etc.

My advice would be to work out your BMI and then make some decision as to how much weight you intend to lose.

Take your time with weight loss - 1or 2 lbs a week is fine, or 1 kg at max on average over the weeks - though you will probably lose weight faster than that in the first couple of weeks.

Also read through these blogs, there's some good advice here too from people who are, in the main, actually riding the weigth loss bus at the moment.
