Oh No! ANOTHER bad weekend.

Well! Good intentions have fallen by the way side once again. Weekends really are no good.

Saturday ended up having a handful (literally) of chips, and some corned beef pie, italians on saturday night and indian take-away on sunday night.

I have only just realised how bad this has been when I've written it. I'm wondering if perhaps I'm not in the right framw of mind. Hopefully this will make me dig deep this week and get some sort of a result on Friday.

Happy healthy eating!

Don't beat yourself up. Take extra steps to plan before you eat. Is your partner on board with your weight loss? Perhaps try to steer clear of take aways and eating out for a few weeks to cut off that temptation to overindulge?

It's so much more difficult to keep to a healthy diet if the people around you are parading unhealthy options in front of you, or if you're always in situations where they're within easy reach. If you keep to eating at home for a while and make sure all your cupboards are full of good food, you'll find it easier to stick to the plan!

You are so right about the partner situation! I had a really good day yesterday (although MFP was showing my sugars as high) and then my partner decided to get out Thornton's chocs. 70 cals a pop wasn't even a deterrent....6 & 1/2 sweets later!

It's a difficult thing, isn't it? My fiance has been working in Geneva a great deal over the past year and the first few times he went out there he brought back loads of swiss chocolate!! I didn't complain at the time, but lately he's been told it's not allowed. If he wants the swiss chocolate he has to eat it while he's there. I had to have a talk with him about my issues and that I will eat whatever is in the cupboard, even if I know it's bad for me, and he understands and is now quite happy to only indulge in things when he's out of the house or I'm not around!

It got to the point where in Tesco the other day I grabbed a 3-pack of kit kat chunky mint bars and ASKED IF HE COULD GET THEM! Haha, he's a 33 year old grown man asking me for permission. I said yes, and of COURSE, I had one (they're quite good, though)!!

sorry, HE grabbed the kit kats, not me!

Hi innerslim,

I rather agree with eechristmas. What was that old saying? Something like "Prudent planning and proper preparation prevents a poor performance".

I think it came from teacher training - but you sure could apply it to weight loss too!

There are strategies to use, if you can't side-step a take-away or a meal out and I seem to remember that there was advice about it on the NHSChoices pages. If I'm wrong there, then I'm sure you can find tips and ideas by using a search engine, e.g. 'slimming and take-away food', or similar.

As eechristmas says - don't beat yourself up about it.

Just keep riding the weight loss bus.

Guess that makes Monday and Tuesday 'pay-back' days then for you, perhaps?

Know what you mean about bad and indulgent weekend-a habit I am trying to break. I have banned takeAwys-except when I say it is ok-so we did have Indian last week but I stuck to the dry tandoori king prawns-but enjoyed the rice and naan bread-sigh..... Tried for good and disciplined weekend (again) and failed. But have not let it deter me. Today afterall is another day. .

Problem is a lot if people see weekend as Friday to Sunday that's 3 days even if you were good for 4 days its too much to ask. Most people allow themselves a naughtier day for treats but you have to stick to just the one :-)
