Welcome back, Dave1000 :)

To be honest, I'm not a fan of artificial meal replacements, as they're full of additives and sugar, teach you nothing about healthy eating and make it very likely that any weight lost will be regained quickly. Why not have a look at this and see if it's something you could stick to healthunlocked.com/api/redi...

As a reminder, all of the information you need about the forum can be found in Pinned Posts

healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... and I hope you'll be joining all the Events, Challenges and Clubs that we run, especially a weigh-in and the daily diary.

We've found active participation to be key to successful weight loss and, of course, it's a good way to get to know people, find inspiration and share support and encouragement.

Wishing you all the best :)

Thanks for taking the time to respond I appreciate it. I will take a look at the link suggested as I need to get started. I will also get involved. I need to get used to how healthunlocked works, as it to me until today to realise that I had received any replies. Thanks again to all.

Hi, yes I did, years ago, it tasted disgusting , it was really expensive and I was hungry ! Have you considered low carb? The food is lush and you're not hungry :-) x

Thanks are you talking Atkins Style or a meal replacement with that name? I will take a look. Happy for you to tell me more if possible.

Neither to be honest, have a look at the link on this post from TheAwfulToad , it explains it in much detail :-) x

Hi, have to agree with others, you need to eat food but in a healthier way. And I don’t mean living on a lettuce leaf and always feeling hungry. I have personally made some changes to the way I eat and it’s working. Find what works for you and use the people here as your cheerleading squad. 😀

Thanks Sarah. I will try to take your advice. The difficulty as always is finding something that works and is sustainable for me.

I think the bottom line we all have to accept eventually is that there is no miracle cure. It takes mental strength to stick to making good choices and not sabotage ourselves. This is a journey we are taking one meal at a time and sometimes the progress is slow. But being here helps keep me focused on being healthy.

I wouldn't touch supplements with a bargepole (* except Vitamin D in winter).

Healthy food is the answer, not junk in the form of pills and shakes.

Hi Dave :) Yes tried this 30+ years ago and it didn't have any effect , found having to swallow all those pills a bit nauseating

Haven’t looked that far to be honest but had received good reviews from a relative recently.
