Im sat here thinking about the way this country is on a difficult ' Covid Lockdown ' I'm hearing the struggle most people are going through, some of which are;

Not being allowed out for more than an hour to exercise.

Not visiting family or friends. Not socialising at events.

Not going to the pub, work, gym, the coffee shop, holidays or weekends away? With family or friends.

I used to be one of those of people who had a ' normality ' that's expected & accepted in society. Not now though. I've been sat in my own space for the last 5 years living a Single solitary life & slowly drowning in my own hsppiness. ๐Ÿ™‚

A slow, unhealthy transformation, in both body & mind. A slow journey but a sure journey. Myself who goes nowhere & rarely see's anyone is starting to feel isolated in my self inflicted lockdown. Confused by my choices that I've made. Feeling like an alien in my own little world.

How did I get here? I'm going to do some honest self reflection. over the next few days & see what pops up as well as tackle my food plans & get to grips with the weekly suggestions to follow.

I just read you have up smoking. Well done you. I've just quit again. From not smoking for 15 years & then starting again last year , through sheer boredom I think ? Stopped 9 weeks ago but it's a struggle as feels like I lost my mate ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ™‚ determined not to start again though.

Yes smoking is a bugger isnโ€™t it? I stopped for six years once then stupidly started again ten years ago. Stopped again a month ago and determined not to get complacent again. Youโ€™ve also nailed it so you know you can do it again. ๐Ÿ’ชGood luck! ๐Ÿ˜€

Hi. It sounds like you are feeling quite low during the lockdown. It is hard as our normal activities are suspended for now. I find keeping busy helps. Are you able to go out for a daily walk? It is great to get out in the fresh air even if you are social distancing. If not do you have a garden so you can enjoy the sunshine? Have a look at YouTube. There are lots of exercise programs for all abilities. Any exercise you can do will help you feel better.

With regard to food have a look at the daily diary. There are lots of ideas you can use for meal plans and you can post your meals and get advice. Also join a weigh in any day that you like and chat o others. You will find a lot of us struggling at the moment.

Also have a look at Lytham jailbreak challenge. There are lots of ideas for keeping busy. Do you have any hobbies or jobs you have been putting off? Post them on there and it it will give you an incentive to do them.

An admin should be along soon to give you more information to read but I hope this helps. Keeping coming on here. Nutty natterings if you just want to chat. Look after yourself and stay safe.

I suspect a lot of people are using this time to engage in some self-reflection, and that's a very good thing indeed. The fact that you're asking yourself "how did I get here?" - with the implication that where you go from here is entirely up to you - suggests that your mind is still working just fine. You haven't slid down a slippery slope as far as you think you have.

I don't live in the UK, but I'm currently in a country where the politicians are performing a similar set of panic-driven, unscientific, and guaranteed-unhelpful actions (a.k.a. 'making it up as we go along') instead of listening to the disaster-planning expert team who have developed procedures for this kind of scenario (yes, the UK has such a team, although I forget what they're called). It's the sheer boneheadedness of it all that drives me mad, not the fact of being constrained; although I'm lucky in that, being a farmer, TPTB have issued me with various bits of paper to allow me to move relatively freely. I am, of course, taking proper precautions when I do so. Mostly, though, I'm just horrified by the spectacle of dozens of national governments who, apparently, couldn't plan their way out of a wet paper bag ... and billions of people faithfully following their leaders to the gates of hell.

I'm just glad I have my plants, my chickens, and enough off-grid technology to keep things going for a while. It is very calming to watch nature ticking along on its intended course, while humanity is lining up at the cliff edge and watching each other jump off.

To quote Terry Pratchett's Foul Ole Ron: "Bug'rit. Bug'rem. I told 'em!"

Thank you & yes I've been trying not to focus on horrible negatives that media is constantly pushing. To be fair I'm not really that trusting of government's anyway. They only really tell you what they want you to know. Lol. Its interesting what you are saying about nature. I've noticed it too. Maybe it's better that humans locked down for the rest of the year so nature gets a fighting chance to regenerate. Let the animals have some power for a change.

Hi Hawk59

Agree with the previous comments. Yes, this time is definitely given people a period of self-reflection.

Please dont be so hard on yourself at this time and the choices you have made. They were made with the options you had at that time. Your get there on your journey.

Take care and be safe

I think that the lockdown has also made me think and reassess the way I live my life. I too am quite solitary from choice

. I lost my beautiful daughter 5 years ago and I suppose I've never come to terms with her loss. She was my best friend my everything. The bottom just dropped out of my world.

But when this lock down is finally over I need to try to rebuild my life. Join some clubs learn new things. Live again! Begin to care about myself again. And of course lose the weight that has slowly crept up on me.

Good luck and my best wishes to all โค๏ธ
