New guy here my plan starts monday 2nd march

Hi all, well for me it all starts first thing monday morning 2nd march, my problem is more red wine and lager so these are going to change, no more midweek drinking and only gin and slimline tonic just once a week.

Looking forward to starting and sticking to sensible portions and fresh veg and fruit, im not a big sweets eater anyway but obviously gotta watch the calories i take in daily.

Fingers crossed anyway lets hope i can get into a routine, being a cab driver its not easy to take much excercise but im going to be walking at least 2 miles per day to start with after my shift.

You'll find all forum activities in our Pinned Posts healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... , including a Welcome message, weekly weigh in and Daily Diary, which are a good starting point for all members; you'll also find the DrinkLess club so do call in there for a bit of support in that area.

Shift working can be a challenge so planning is key, to avoid unplanned eating. The Diary will help with that.

Do some exploring and then join in with what's on offer, to get the most out of the forum :)

By recognising that alcohol plays a part in your weight gain/loss, you've already made a positive step in the right direction.

There's a monthly club that you might find useful where the focus is on managing drink levels and the March one has just started... healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

Hi Bigpete1, welcome to the gang! If you cut down on the lager you will probably find you will lose weight straight away.

As for exercise, good idea to start the day with a session. Puts you in a positive frame of mind for the rest of the day.

Hi and welcome being a taxi driver and sitting all day probably doesn't help with your food intake either, a good start by walking and cutting down on the alcohol, lager especially as a lot of ' dead' calories in it. As your starting today why not weigh yourself and join in Mon weigh in. Good luck
