My plan for today

Susie71 profile image
12 Replies

First time I’ve posted on Daily Diary

Breakfast- All Bran with skimmed milk

Lunch Slimfast shake

Mid afternoon Melon with spray cream

Dinner Basa fillet, 🥕 and runner beans, new potatoes and a white sauce

And finally coffee ☕️ with skimmed milk throughout the day

According to my calculations that’s just under 1000 calories today. I aim to walk around 7000-8000!steps

Fingers crossed 🤞 I can keep to this!

Good luck everyone with your plan

Good Morning Susie71 welcome to Weight Loss. If you want to post on Wednesday's Daily Diary click the link below. I know you're new here so you still have to find your way around.

Hello Susie,

Please use the link that tubby has given you and put your meal plan on the Daily Diary.

You will get lots of help and advice there :)

If you look in Pinned Posts each day you will find a link to it. You were given the link to Pinned Posts, along with some other very helpful ones, by moreless when she welcomed you 2 days ago.

Your food is far too light on calories. If you are looking to loose 6 stone you will be allowed far more than 1000 a day. You need an eating plan that is sustainable and that you can enjoy for the rest of your life. I know it can be very hard to change a life times way of eating, but it does make life so much more enjoyable if you can start thinking healthy lifestyle and not diet :)

If calorie counting is what you want to do, then please use the NHS BMI calculator to work out your own personal calorie range and start at the top end.

Eating more will help you to loose weight far more easily than keeping your calories so low.

Did you read the link moreless gave you to 'When Weight Loss is a Struggle' - this really explains what is going on in our bodies and is especially pertinent to those of us who are getting older.

Hoping to see you on the Daily Diary later on :)

I thought I had posted on Daily Diary because that’s the link I clicked on. And thank you for the advice about calories. I choose to count calories because that way I can keep a better check on what I’m eating. I posted yesterday about eating low calorie biscuits instead of muffins but got pointed to a blog that gave information about not eating sweet things. Today I’m critiscised for not posting in the correct place. Seems I can’t win. I’m very upset with the reaction I’m getting and don’t feel at all welcome here. Regarding calories my doctor says to have 1000 calories a day and your website states that it does not replace your relationship with your doctor. My other half has also just signed up and we seem to be getting logged on as the other person. This is Susie71 posting this not Chelsea51 as appears to be the case.

Susie, nobody is criticising you for posting in the wrong place. It can be hard to navigate this forum. We are just trying to help you to find your way around and to post in the place where you will get the best advice.

I see that Tiggerr and IndigoBlue61 have both given you ways of finding your way around. It does take some practice.

I was not aware that your Doctor had specified you eat 1000 calories a day, if I had been, I would not have commented.

As for the advice regarding biscuits and the blog BridgeGirl provided you with, this again was just to be helpful. We try to inform people on the forum and then it is entirely up to you wether you want to take the advice or not.

I am assuming that Chelsea51 is your other half? If so maybe they are not logging out properly and that is why you have now turned up as them.

I am so sorry if I or anybody else have upset you here and have made you feel less than welcomed, it is not the intention of any of us, as I have already said, we are here to provide information and what you choose to do with that is entirely up to you.

Wishing you every success in your weight loss journey.

Thank you very much for your message. It has helped me because I was very upset but feel better for your last comments. My husband and I have tried to keep our posts separate by each of us using a different iPad. Guess it’s something we will get used to.

All I have done every week this year is put on weight so I was pleased with my plan for today! And I’d much rather have more calories than 1000 😁. I think the bmi calculator said around 16000. I will do something in between and see how it goes. When I saw my doc on Monday about my weight I asked her if there was any help available from the surgery to help with weight loss and all she said was “I’m sure there is” but didn’t tell me what! Just said about blood tests for diabetes she wanted me to have and make an appointment for two weeks time. Not very helpful! Couldn’t get an appointment for two weeks time cos all appointments already taken. That’s why I was so pleased to join you guys.

Anyway enough of me and my woes thanks for taking the time to help me feel welcome again. Good luck with your own journey xx

Thank you for this reply Susie. I am happy that you are happier now. I don't want to sound disrespectful about Doctors, but they don't receive enough training about nutrition. As you say, we are not here to replace the advice that the Doctor gives you, but some Doctor's are not aware of the advice that is out there. Your Doctor has not lead you to any help, I suspect, because she doesn't know.

I think there is an article about this somewhere, maybe moreless has it?

I think you will find it much more beneficial if you up your calories. Go back to your profile by clicking on your avatar, the yellow smily face, the posts that you have made here will come up, click on the one where moreless welcomed you and have a read of the links that she gave you. The one named 'When weight loss is a struggle' will be really beneficial to you. If after reading it, you want to ask questions, then come back and ask. If you want to just up your calories for now and see how you get on, then do. You have to be comfortable with your choices, but by reading lots of articles on here and other people's opinions, your choices may change in time. Many of us have changed the route of our journey's more than once.

We are here to support everybody with their woes, so don't apologise :)
