I have lympedema, osteoarthiritis, OAB, diabetes. I have lived in my tri-level house for 35 years. I can't manage stairs, can't drive anymore,can bearly walk can't lose weight constant struggle because when I am stress I eat to feel better. I truly want to feel again what it is to not have any pain. thanks just needed to talk

Hi, Good to see you on. I have been coming on forum for a year and it has changed my life. I plan food and exercise on the Daily Diary. Keep posting. Wishing you well and good luck with your weight loss journey.

We have lots of groups on here...book club, drink less, fitness -including for those with reduced mobility and a " join us to natter page" (I'll add you a link later for that page)

Please note, don't use the HU App, it is much easier to use the website!

There's a lot there but it's worth taking your time to read, honest!

We recommend that members join a Weekly Weigh-In, on the day of your choice, and also use the Daily Diary, where members share their meal plans and get useful feedback. They are found under Pinned Posts or Events(see site guide link above)

A special feature of our Forum is the degree of support between members which you will experience (and add to yourself !) as you join in and chat with others.

Hi catlover, I ve just restarted my approach to losing my excess 5 stone. Its day 12 today, and I lost 7lb first week on low carbohydrate (3oz daily) low fat (3oz daily) and 3 oz protein daily. Im getting used to filling out daily diary, and have been less likely to eat the wrong foods mindlessly (bread, rice, pasta), and enjoying my fat allowance, ie dairy, olive oil. Im immobile at present due to chest infection, (for several weeks, ) feeling more satisfied eating this way and sticking to 14:10, which for me me

means first meal, I breakfast 10am and last meal approx. 7pm, it helps me as I find evenings and weekends easier to cope with, an lived in my house for 35 years, now alone. good luck!

Hi catlover and welcome :)

Sorry to hear you're going through all that.

I know that some of that will definitely be helped or at least eased by losing weight so I reckon you've got the motivation.

Just for starters, my suggestion would be to join one of the weekly Weigh-ins and also use the Daily Diarys.

It sounds to me that you will be open to change and new ideas, whereas many come here, don't do anything different from their other attempts, then wonder why they achieve the same lack of progress.

If you have any questions at all then please ask as this forum is full of friendly, helpful and knowledgeable people who only want you to do well :)

If you "slim smart" weight loss is not so hard! It is not all about motivation and masochism.

Some of us here find that what works, for weight-loss, diabetes and pain|inflammation|arthritis, is a combination of The Low Carbohydrate, High-Fat (LCHF) diet (see the forum here on Health Unlocked) and Not Snacking All Day AKA Intermittent Fasting (IF). See:
