Hi and welcome, loulou0 :)

Although it was a very long time ago, I do remember that losing the second lot of baby weight was a much harder job than the first time around.

Please do be kind to yourself though, your babies are still very young and your body needs time to adjust and take extra care if you're still nursing.

Limit your efforts to sticking to home made meals, cooked from scratch and eliminate junk food and snacks, wherever possible and no low fat/fat free/diet products. Easier said than done just a week before Christmas, I know :)

There's plenty of information here to help you on your journey, just follow this link to our chat thread and a list of all the activities we run. We've found active participation to be key to success, especially with our weigh-ins and Daily Diary.

Hi, loulou0 , welcome.

If you "slim smart" weight loss is not so hard! It is not all about motivation and masochism.

Some of us here find that what works is a combination of The Low Carbohydrate, High-Fat (LCHF) diet (see the forum here on Health Unlocked) and Not Snacking All Day AKA Intermittent Fasting (IF). See:

Welcome loulou0 . Congratluations on having two bonny babies in the family. Making time to plan meals definitely isn't easy with 2 little ones and I empathise ( although it was 30 years ago for me !! ).

Unfortunately the shops are full of tempting ready made foods but if you can resist buying most of it, that will be a good start. I doubt you have time for much cooking but, for example, a large chicken or two will give you the basis for a few different meals. So will a pack of mince, or salmon fillets... just add vegetables. Treat yourself to healthy fats like cream in your coffee or thick greek yoghurt on porridge, it will satisfy you longer and reduce the need for a biscuit binge mid morning or after the babes go to bed. We will look forward to hearing your progress, ups and downs...we all have them ! 😊

Hey LouLou, love the name 😂💞

Welcome, you will find loads of support here and meal plans, exercise ideas etc.

As others have said, please be kind to yourself, to your body, you've carried two amazing children inside of you.

Honestly those changing room mirrors are nobody's friend! Do not look in them 😂

Perhaps rather focussing on how you look just try to make small changes every day like drinking more water, eating healthier choices and perhaps taking the baby or kids for a short walk each day if you can. (Maybe will help the baby to sleep) whilst you can get some exercise and space to let your mind rest.

Remember you can achieve anything you want to and not to rush anything.

It's very easy to feel huge pressure in society today as a female, especially a new mum, but try think differently about your body. I like to think of mine as a vehicle which gets me from A to B, which allows me to do amazing things like run, swim, climb, even do sky dives 😂.

You are in the right place for support and taking part in a weekly weigh in day or daily diary always helps, feel free to message if you need help or someone to talk to 💞🎀🎄

Thank you for your kind words of encouragement Lulu99 🤗 It’s crazy how much pressure i feel under being a lot older this time round! X

Any time, always more if you need them ☺️.

Remember someone will always have an opinion on something but that it's your own opinion of yourself that matters most.

As long as your children are healthy and you are too then you are doing great.

Pressure and stress can affect your weight as well. I find focusing on self love/ self care is good and also meditation/ mindfulness is good to block out/ disregard others negative opinions of you. Or your perceived negative opinions others hold of you.

Just remember your weight/shape/size will never define you or your self worth 💛 xx

Hi LoulouO

You have come to the right place. After years of Yoyo dieting, I now do NOT diet. Its a way of life now. I cut down hard on carbs and apart from that - I eat well. I snack as much as I need on fruit and try not ever to get hungry. It was a big departure from counting calories and watching everything thing that I ate.

As someone has already mentioned, it is still very early days for you yet. You are still a new mum and can't expect to look like a size 6 model. Don't be too hard on yourself. Enjoy your little ones - and enjoy what you eat. Its a mind set thing really.

I hope all goes well in 2020. We are all rooting for you.
