New girl on the block 🤗

Hi everyone

Just joined today, hoping for tips and help on how to get interested in regular exercise! My weight loss is going well but I need to do exercise and find it very difficult to get in to something I enjoy, I’ve tried everything, I’m happy exercising at home and have found some great YouTube videos to exercise to but I don’t stick at it. I’m almost 61 years old and need to keep active.

Hi funnyface and welcome.

I haven’t really got on top of the exercise either but recognise that at 53 I need to give it some priority. I’ve signed up for a 5week beginners yoga class starting in January-so having paid in advance I hope will help the motivation!

So sorry no great tips to offer but I’m sure others will have 😃

Will do! It’s a small class-only 5 of us-which doesn’t seem so daunting!

Well done on making a good start. Exercise has many benefits but it doesn't play a huge part in wieght loss. For that, we need to make changes to what, and how, we eat. It's an extra challenge as we get older and this gives a good explanation of why that is healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... I recommend joining a weekly weigh in on the day of your choice, and using the Daily Diary, where members log their meal plans and get useful feedback.

I'm doing ok with weight loss but any advice on healthy eating us always appreciated

Members follow various plans. I am enjoying a low carb high(er) fat approach which has helped me move from the obese range to a healthy BMI.

Once you get chatting with people on a weigh-in and the Daily Diary, you'll hear what's working for other members
