Hi, I have to lose weight for health reasons, diabetes, blood pressure and more, but like my food to much to really commit.

Hello and welcome reluctant 😊

It may come as some surprise but everyone here enjoys their food! We just have to each choose the least painful way of eating correct amounts . . . Either by counting calories so you can eat all your favourite foods but less of them, or a different approach such as Low Carb (see here healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... )

If you haven’t already then please see Pinned Posts here healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

especially the Welcome Newbies and the Security Post. I notice your post is unlocked

This is a very busy forum with lots going on but feel free to ask if you have any questions.

This is a mind set thing. I was waking with a VERY dry mouth, plus snoring plus my blood sugars getting into the T2 diabetes range and decided I did not want to be ill.

Sounds like you are not quite there yet. But I suggest that you read the Dr Michael Mosley 8 week blood sugar diet THEN buy the recipe book published by his wife and a chef. I have lost 8 kgs in 8 weeks on this regime with little to no real hunger pangs.

The reason? No CARBS. No bread, no pasta, no rice, no pastry. Sound too severe? Not at all when you see what you can eat instead of it. I start my day with a mix of porridge and apple, very filling.

So LOW carbs is the way to go. but not as severe as Keto if your heart is not in it.
