Get Healthy!

I am now on the a waiting list for a knee replacement, I feel like an old woman, bad knee, my back keeps seizing up, I struggle to walk any distance because of my knee, I'm a shorty at 4'10" so my weight at 86kg is way too heavy for me. I think I've just got used to the way I look, even though I don't like the way I look. I also have type 2 diabetes. For the last couple of weeks I have made a concerted effort to at least not munch on biscuits etc at work and have taken fruit and yoghurt into work with me. I have looked at the NHS weight loss plan before but never actually did anything regarding it, so here's to now starting and hopefully a long term weight loss which will hopefully mean better pain control with my knee and to actually start walking properly again and to feel healthy an energised!

Hi and welcome, Eviealex1963 :)

I'm afraid the 12 week plan will not help your Type 2 diabetes and if your GP hasn't referred you to a dietitian, or offered any advice, I'm going to give you a few things to look at, so that you can do your own research and find a way forward for you.

Hi, Eviealex1963 , welcome.

Many of us here find that what works, for weight loss and Diabetes, is a combination of The Low Carbohydrate, High-Fat (LCHF) diet (see the forum here on Health Unlocked) and Not Eating All Day AKA Intermittent Fasting (IF). See:
