DDP Yoga

Just wondering if anyone has experience with DDP Yoga. I've heard some very inspiring stories, seen some interesting looking workouts. I don't like yoga but since my accident it has become really difficult to get to the Gym which is having a knock on effect with (apart from the usual weight and joint problems) is affecting my depression. This tends to make me comfort eat more which just ends up spiralling in a bad way. As a result, trying to find an alternative that I can do from home that can still work with my dodgy feet and wrist.

Sorry Cookie101, I had to Google it, because I'd never heard of it, so can't help you.

No worries, I'm thinking I will give it a go. It's better to try it out rather than sit here pondering all of life's possibilities.

I prefer weighing in at the same time each week so I get a true picture of how my weight is going. For me, the only consistent day is Sunday. Once I get myself in order, that will be the day that I weigh in on.

Great, good luck ! :-) x

I've not heard of DDP yoga. I googled it and it seems as if you have to pay. Is there a free trial or some free sessions? A sort of try before you buy.

There are some excellent yoga vids on youtube. I think its called yoga with Adrienne.

Maybe check out her vids first and save a bit of cash. X

There is a seven day free trial. I don't like normal yoga. Tried it many years ago but found that I just didn't get on with it. This one seems to include a lot of other things including calisthenics and physiotherapy. Given that I have injuries from my accidents, as well as joint and foot problems because of my weight, it seems like it's going to be a bit more suitable for what I want to get out of it. I'm off for two weeks soon so I might give the free trial a run then and see how I go.

As someone with Spondyloarthritis and knackered knee from an RTC. I can really recommend DDP Yoga, high impact excercise and rowing really does a number on my joints/knee so I gave DDPY a whirl a few years ago and really felt the benefits. Due to depression and now working where I sit on my backside for 12 hours a day, I have ballooned in size and just started DDP yoga and dieting again.

Also have a number of friends who used to be very overweight and used DDPY just for weight loss (along with the diet side of it) to great effect

Also recently DDP has released a chair yoga set of workouts which might benefit more if you can't handle the standing portions with your foot. But I haven't tried/seen any of the workouts to speak accurately about it.

That's brilliant BrokenButWorking, thanks for the intel. It's good to hear from someone who's used it and found some benefit from it. Apparently the App has access to all the workouts plus the other stuff so I might see if my poor little kindle can handle it.

Not seen the app, I bought the complete disc set before there was an app haha with yoga mat & HBM when it was 50% off. Shipping to UK wasn't too bad either.

Never heard of it but from what others said sounds interesting have you thought of Tai chi I did that before moved here and could do it even with my bad back and dodgy knees. Good luck

I have done Tai Chi and keep trying to prod myself to get back into it. I like it because it helps to make me a bit calmer and less stressed. I just wanted to try something a little more active that works around my injuries and ailments.

Well hope you find something that works for you. I also did line dancing and that definitely gets you going and teacher told me when not to try something and what I could do instead.
