I've never posted on these forums before. A couple of months ago I realised I'd hit 14 stone plus change, and I felt ashamed. So far I have been able to shed 2-4lbs per week by keeping an eye on calories (nothing crazy, a little under the 2,000 mark) and exercising five days a week: running between a mile and 3K, lifting small weights, trying to walk a couple an hour or so a day. All small steps, all useful.
A couple of years ago I used to run 10Ks for fun! It can come as a shock to see how far you can fall from good habits. I've a long way to go - I'd like to reach 12st - but it's a good start.
Hope you're all well.

Well done for getting as far as you have, I hope we'll be able to help you reach your goals.
Follow this link to our chat thread and a list of all the activities we run. We've found active participation to be key to success, especially with our weigh-ins and Daily Diary.
Welcome Wimblewhyte and I'd like to congratulate you on how well you've done so far.
Good to hear too that you haven't tried to knock your calories back too far but with all that exercise, even that might be a tadge on the low side. I say that because there's a sweet spot for weight loss and if we tax the body too much it will retaliate eventually by slowing down the metabolism and becoming more efficient at turning food into fat. This can become a vicious circle as we get closer to our desired goal.
Hopefully I'm wrong but it might be worth running the NHS BMI Calculator which should give you a range of calories to stay within whilst losing weight.
Have you joined a weigh in day yet? Tomorrows is open now if you'd like to weigh in? Think of the loss you could be reporting next week! Here's the link, hope to see you there! x
