Weight. Just figured out what to do!!!!!

I want to weight myself but I don't want to see what it is. I will be depressed for ever. any suggestions? I was thinking about taking a picture, somehow, and posting it, but then I will see it and know. OHHHHH, I have a GREAT idea!!!!!!!! I am going to weigh myself carrying something that I have no idea of what it weights and I will just keep doing that. That is the perfect solution. Okay, so the weight that I will post will not be real, but it will go up or down. Brilliant!

I get weighed almost straight away just have a pee first your bladder holds a lot overnight LOL

Very imaginative :) You will see here that people post their weights and it is often liberating to say it in a safe environment, but do whatever works for you.

Also, the scales are only one measure. Why not take some measurements and see what changes you see there over time? And your clothes feeling more comfortable, and feeling better and more energetic in yourself - all these things will be measures of your progress :)

If you don't want to see if or how much you have lost/gained. Put on a piece of clothing that fits tight and see how it fits now.

I love your thinking but what you're suggesting sounds pretty much like avoidance... p.s. I don't want to sound mean... truly :)

May I suggest that you hold your breath, jump right in, then take a look in the mirror (potential multi-mixed metaphor city... I know :) ) and once you've done that, you'll know exactly what to do and why... or at the very least, you'll have a number of people giving you good advice based upon what your situation truly is.

It worries me to say all that because I don't want you to be depressed forever. What I really hope is that you'll take this opportunity to truly take stock of your current (real) situation and know that every positive step you take from now on, will help you day by day to be a healthier you.

Hello. I have bought myself a size 12 dress and I’m a 14/16. Every Friday I try the dress on and although it’s tight and I can’t go out in it, I can now get the buttons done up.

I hate weighing myself too. It’s such a rollercoaster. One minute I’m elated at the weight loss the next minute I’m fed up if I see a gain or a maintain especially if I’m still eating to my plan. So many issues can effect what the scales show up. So I think the tape measure and the clothes are more accurate.

An interesting approach however I can assure you if you stick to a healthy eating plan (reducing portion size if needed) and gradually increase your exercise the weight will come off you will not be depressed forever. Set your self little achievable goals so you will be well motivated and as Tiggerrr said it is often liberating to own your weight. If you normally weigh in stones how about doing it in Kilograms which you don't really relate to.

I started at 134.5kgs which sounds so much better than 21stone 2lb. I had spent years ignoring my weight, easy when the scales only went to 19 stone but a doctors visit and other triggers all came together to give me the proverbial boot up the backside, finding this place and joining in has been a huge part of my success so far and joining in with a weigh in every week has helped keep me on track with the occasional blip as is recorded on my graph, most people had a Christmas spike, not me mine was in January and is a source of humour not depression. Some good advice here and I agreed w Barcud i don’t have a clue about KG but it’s what my scales at home measure. I know my target weight but don’t think oh it’s this many stone.

When I gain I momentarily beat myself up but weight loss is not linear! Use the support here and keep going you will get there!

LOL if it works for you go on. How about measuring yourself and see how it goes down. Or get someone else to look at scales and say how much lost each time. Good luck. You will get loads of support on here and no judgement so maybe you will soon feel like biting the bullet and looking. I measured myself and put them all out there for everyone to see and got loads of support

I took picture of myself that was clicked a month ago and compare it with latest through an app. I could see the difference in me...that's what is helping me move forward. I can see my hard work pays off. Another thing is I keep trying dresses which I use to wear in 2017/18 and I should at least fit comfortably in those by year end.
