Over the past year I have put on about 3 stone, about two years ago I lost 7kgs in 4-5 months, I am now on a diet and exercise with free weights and cardio exercises plank etc, I seem to achieve the best results when I go cycling I use protein shakes after exercising, and as a meal replacement once a day(adding milk instead of water fills me up till dinner) my downfall is cheese, chocolate, also I seem to balloon if I eat white bread portion control is the key for me, so all I can say is be strong find alternatives to cravings and reach out if you think your gonna weaken.

I think you might be less hungry and craving you if got rid of the meal replacement. Losing weight and keeping it off involves a lifestyle change. You can not be on meal placement stuff the rest of your life. But if you find it works for you, then it works for you.

Another thing that helped me for sweet cravings is sugar free gum. But the right type none of this spearmint or whatever. But extra do a strawberry flavour and a bubblemint flavour. But are rather sweet tasting especially the former. That way my mouth is busy and I am enjoy something sweet tasting. My downfall is chocolate and cheese too :)

I don't tend to use it for meal replacement much now it is used more after exercise as a recover shake it seems to be helping building my muscles up and losing fat or take it before a long cycle 35 miles on a Sunday my meals tend to be portion control and 3 meals per day.

Hello, stegbunno, and welcome to the forum 😊

I agree with LoopyKate , eating real food, home cooked, will serve you much better in the long term, and I'm assuming you want the weight to stay gone, once it's gone. Here's a great quote I saw recently: 'If the way in which you lose weight is unsustainable, then your results are going to be unsustainable'.
