Hi, this is my first post. I’ve actually been dieting for quite some time and have lost about 30 k. My problem is I’ve been here before and just ballooned out again.i need to lose another 10 k and I’ve taken up running too. I’ve given up the subscription to my slimming club and but I haven’t lost my motivation to lose weight. My starting weight is 78.8 k

Good luck to everyone on here 🍀

Wow congratulations on all that weight loss, that’s such an amazing achievement. I hope you have success in your next stage of weight loss. After all you have been through, surely you will have lost your old ways of eating food. This combined with starting your running regime should keep your weight down. Just think of your old life and how much more fit and healthy you are now compared to then. Good luck with it all Erddig, support is always on this forum for you 👍👍👍

Good morning erddig. You’ve come to the right place. The support on here is second to none.

Hi and welcome, Erddig :)

Sadly, dieting just doesn't work, we need to find a lifestyle change, that's healthy and sustainable. You've done well to get where you are, but if the route that got you there isn't something you can see yourself following next year, or all the following years, then the weight will return. It was this that made the change for me, after years of yoyo dieting healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... Ignore the title if it doesn't apply, the contents will. This supports the theory phcuk.org/wp-content/upload...

Follow this link to our chat thread and a list of all the activities we run. We've found active participation to be key to success, especially with our weigh-ins and Daily Diary.

Hi Erddig and great going to date.

Weight maintenance is an issue although it helps that we have a Maintainers' club here that meet every month to support each other.

One way of helping maintain, is not to 'crash land' at your finishing weight. If we lose weight too quickly as we get to our final 'resting place', then our body won't have time to get used to eating the extra calories that it takes to maintain normally.

Reducing our rate of weight loss will help transition from weight loss to maintenance.

This forum is full of fun, events, challenges and friends... being active is a strong key to continued motivation.

Good luck!

Welcome! The posts moreless has suggested inspired me to change the way I eat - I lost 25kg and have managed to stay at around 63 since January. Come and join our Thursday weigh in - it's in the list on right. :)

PS You start from the home page fro this community to see it on right!

I’m on my iPhone atm, but I will log in on my laptop on Thursday - unless you can access the weigh in from a mobile. I’ve real moreless’s post and found it very useful. Its a lifestyle change I’m after and I will certainly follow the advice.

Thank you all for your warm and supportive welcome.

Welcome! Brilliant weight loss and the best of luck for the remainder. I would echo what others have said - it has to be a lifestyle change that you can maintain long term. Diets don't work because people often return to their old ways of eating and unfortunately that is what got them into trouble in the first place. Coming onto this forum is a great help because you will receive a lot of good information and support. If you are feeling tempted, it is a good idea to come onto the forum - I have done this and have lost the temptation as a result. Best wishes.

Well done so far ! Ive lost a lot of weight twice before, only to put it all back on, I know where youre coming from. I need something that I enjoy and dont feel deprieved on so I dont "chuck the towel in"

Im hoping ive found the answer in LCHF, the food is lush and im not hungry, have you considered that? :-) x

Hi,

No I’ve not tried LCHF. I tend to eat mainly Quorn and pulses.
