New mum - 22lbs to lose!

Hi all,

I’m new to the weight loss. Always been a silm and healthy girl but had a really strong sweet tooth in pregnancy, I kept healthy during my pregnancy but allowed myself many sweet treats I would usually stay away from! I kept active in pregnancy with walks and swims however, after having my gorgeous healthy 9lb 4oz baby boy - 4 months later and I’m still 22lbs over! I feel good as managed to lose 32 lbs since my baby but have 10 to go and want to drop an additional 12lbs to really get to my best shape and be super healthy.

I’m vegetarian and do a few miles a week walking with my baby.

Any diet/exercise advise especially from new mums or any success stories would be really appreciated! I’m aiming a steady 2lbs a week loss to reach the 22lb loss so slow steady and maintainable is the goal! Xx

Try a dance class, or a class that keeps you moving with your heart rate up...Zumba is a really good class. There are usually DVD packages on either Ebay or Amazon.

Thank you I was thinking this I tried “fit in 5” but didn’t really inspire me and also getting used to broken sleep - I used to be such a gym bunny but now it’s time to find a new fitness routine! Going to start logging my weekly weigh in tomorrow- I feel this will really motivate me more and increasing my water intake too x

Try and find some exercise/activity you enjoy as you're more likely to stick to it. Your walks with your baby sound great - for both of you :)

I'll look out for you at Sunday's weigh-in. We're a very friendly bunch so do please read what others have written and give them some support - just 'well done' or 'have a good week' is enough for people to feel supported, and that's what keeps the forum going :)
