I had a boiled egg, two bits of toast with butter plus a biscuit and a mouthful of donut. I am on holiday. Altogether 641 calories. I will have a tin of tomatoe soup for lunch 204 calories. For dinner I will have four new potatoes and a corn on the cob 384 calories. All added up 1229 calories. I have a few calories left over for some fruit as a snack x

No, you have about 700 calories left Tulip.

Please follow the link I gave you to join the Daily Diary. If you have to create a new post with a header, you're not in the Daily Diary. You'll see an opening post and lots of replies you can read and respond to, then add your meal plan at the end :)

Hello Tulip and welcome to this wonderful forum. I see you previously posted and been sent the links to the various threads where you can participate. When I first joined I used my mobile with the app and struggled to find my way around the forum. If you are using the app then stop and use the website via your mobile until you are familiar with navigating yourself around the site. It takes time.

The daily diary thread will be useful as it will give you ideas and also some focus on what you are planning to eat - ideally a good spread of proteins, carbs and fats.

I also take ideas from the recipe threads.

The weekly weigh-in thread is motivational and again you can pick up tips.

Have a good look around - I am sure you will benefit 😁.

Thank you x

Calorie intake is not a target. Try dropping the biscuit and doughnut as they are sugar heavy. Use up any over calories with a healthy snack eg a banana much more filling and better for you

Thank you for your advice. I will try and choose healthier options. I did try when we were out today. I’m on holiday in Devon. It was quite hard to find something good though. I’ve used about 1315 calories today so far. I’ll have a corn on the cob for dinner. X

My planned meals went out the window as I was out at lunch time. I resisted ice cream, cream teas and all the naughty stuff. I’m trying to be good this week on holiday x

So having avoided all the "naughty stuff" do you want to say what you did choose? :)

I still wasn’t brilliant as I just ate some of my sons pasty that he left over. I did look up the calories and hopefully I can still stay within my healthy range. I know the pastry is not very good for me and high in fat. I was trying to go for a crab salad but the waitress said it was a big portion so it put me off, plus they ran out of soup x

For future reference the big portion of crab salad would have been a better option Tulip than half a pastry. It can be harder to eat healthily when your on holiday, are you self catering?
