Hidden calories

I’m cutting out some of my many cups of coffee as I’ve not been counting the milk in it. I’m now having some green tea instead so I hope this will help. New week, new motivation 😀👍

A whole pint of full fat milk is only 366 calories, Glescagal, so only give it up if you like green tea. I, personally, can't stand it! :D

Happy supping! :)

I hate green tea too! I find black drinks no problem though.

I'm the same and tea with lemon is really refreshing in hot weather.

I like green tea with lemon and a sweetener which takes away the bitter taste. I’ve tried black tea and coffee but can’t take to them.

Hi moreless - so do I. I was in Tesco's a couple of weeks ago and saw Mandarin & Apple flavoured Green Tea with Guarana and added Vitamin B6 by Twinings - it's delicious and I'm not a tea person at all! Give it a try ;)

That sounds delicious. I’m going to buy some next time I’m in Tesco. Thanks for that

I'm sure that will help Glescagal, if you have a few cups a day that would save quite a few calories.

I stopped having milk in tea and coffee when I was 16 (when I thought I was overweight, but wasn't, looking back!)

I gave up sugar in coffee and have replaced it with cream, same calories, more filling, and soooo yummy 😊

Pepprmint tea is very refreshing and hides the green bit if you squash fresh mint leaves in to it. I use semi skimmed in my coffee and if that gets to the point where I can't have a white coffee....or not loose weight I will have to give in:)

I would rather walk a bit more☕

You're right to take note of all you're taking on board but, as moreless says, there are not a huge amount of calories in full fat milk and I doubt you'd drink a pint, so don't cut out your coffees entirely if you enjoy them.

What is your calorie range?

I’m trying to keep to the bottom of the range which is 1264 so I don’t have a lot to play with! Disadvantage of being 5ft0

Gosh, that is low! I guess the top is around 1600 and you could certainly head in that direction, so you don't start feeling hungry, which is the biggest reason for people giving up.

I would beware being too restrictive as it doesn't tend to work out well in the long run. You may be interested in this healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

Please don't try to keep to the bottom of the range. We would always recommend that you start at the top - that way you have somewhere to go as your weight goes down, and you will be far less inclined to be tempted to have an unplanned bar of chocolate.

You might be able to enjoy a few more calories too if you up your exercise levels - even a little. Why not have a look at the Time to Get Moving Challenge, and Kicking the Kms - lots of ideas there for increasing your activity levels - and that might give you a few more calories each day to 'spend'.

Thanks for your suggestions. I think I will look again at my calorie range and up it to the top end. I’m trying to walk more and get back to swimming. I used to go regularly but it’s fallen away over the summer.
