Hi I’m new to this but sure it will be helpful. Having a BMI of 32 and finding out I have a fatty liver I want to reduce my weight. It is going to be difficult at first but I will get there.

Hello and welcome to the Weight Loss Forum Bluebyu 😊

First of all, to help you find your way around, and enjoy all the things we have on offer, please read the Welcome Newbies Post here healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

Take your time to read it carefully as it has lots of information.

If you are following the NHS 12 Week plan please note that the 1400 calorie target suggested is a generic amount, so please check your own personal calorie target on the NHS BMI checker, it’s often higher than you think. We always advise starting towards the top of the range, being hungry is the single biggest cause of weight loss failure.

I also highly recomend coming onto the forum regularly, daily if you can, reading posts and replying to others. Being part of a community is proven to help weight loss

For your own privacy and safety online we suggest that you to lock your posts by selecting ‘followers in my community’ when you write a new post. Please read our security post here. healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

Lastly, out of interest, can I ask how you found us?

Best wishes for your weight loss journey

Indigo 😊

hey bluebyu! and yes you can do this! it is just a new way of living that will make you feel better and if you like, look better too. I don't really care as much about looking good as feeling good. I haven't felt good for about 6 years and it is the pits. I want to look good but if I had to pick I would pick feeling good over it. sorry I ramble on so. anyway, what a great attitude! I have found a good attitude is the beginning of good things so you are well on your way to your new self! drink plenty of water and plan your meals is my suggestions. I also say read and post as often as you can as you will find lots of motivation here. good luck!

I’m a newbie too after stumbling across the NHS WeightLoss plan. I’m like you in that I found out yesterday that I have fatty liver deposits too. Can’t keep making excuses as it is down to my obesity (BMI 40+) so its time to defeat this fat. Good luck on your journey
