Hi guy's.. I'm in week two and doing really well especially with the healthy eating.. I'm struggling to get away from the glass of wine getting in from work... Ive cut back a lot but it only takes two or three beers to wreck your calorie count for the day.... Any tips...

It's not just the calories in the booze itself, it's that the booze is often accompanied by a little snack or three then another drink then "what was it I was supposed to be having for dinner?" then "never mind, I'll have another packet of crisps instead..." - or maybe that's just me :)

You seem to have made a start on tackling it Beanyboy and I'd say carry on reducing it, set yourself a target this week, a realistic one, and stick to it, the same next week and so on ...

I am having vodka and soda sometimes instead of wine. And measuring properly. And tracking my daily calories. When I have had no alcohol I am in control of what I eat. And that’s a super feeling. On such a roll at the moment because I AM DETERMJND to get to the size I am supposed to be. The CP25k is also great because it’s so doable.

Beanyboy I know exactly what you mean. I struggle with the same issue, I don't drink to get drunk, just enjoy to have a cold beer or a glass of wine after work to relax and unwind. I find it difficult not to have any drink in a week so I replaced my lager and wine with slimline g&t (only 59 kcal) or glass of prosecco (80kcal). I have also set myself 4 non drinking days per week and I don't drink on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. I still struggle, but having this system in place really helps. Equally on my drinking days I set myself a limit in drink calories and I stick to the proper measures. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Yes, it's challenging but gotta try ;-) it's working okay so far and to tell you the truth when I allow myself to have a drink, I drink it very slowly now to cherish every second of it haha so a glass of prosecco which before lasted me about 5 minutes now lasts me an hour or longer ;-) and when I have some slimline g&t I add mor ice or a splash of sparkling water to make the drink seem bigger than it really is...it might seem sad but hey it works for me :-)

What my partner did was to not have alcohol in the house during the week. Buy it on a Friday but only enough for the weekend or keep the extra out of sight and out of the fridge. It's just the summer months in the garden he feels it but he gets on with it. Unfortunaly drinking for him is now luxury as it now £19.80 for 18 cans of what he drinks North of the border!
