Don't let the demon step dictate your health!

It's so tempting to just use the scales, but how do you feel when you see a number your not happy with, do you do best out of 3 then strip naked just to squeeze an ounce off the evil numbers glaring back at you, or is that just me!!!

It can be incredibly depressing and demotivating to use only the scales to determine your progress, if you haven't already, measuring yourself is a brilliant alternative guide, I tend to do both now, you generally know by your clothes and by how you feel, listen to that and don't lose heart....

If you are excercising some of that weight is now turning to muscle, to conclude, DONT PUT YOUR TOTAL SUCCESS OR FAILURE on the evil scales! πŸ†

That's why we always advise everyone to measure themselves Y-von. A number on the scales doesn't define us as people :)

Some gyms have body weight percentage scales which will calculate how much body fat you've lost instead of weight. Weight can be up to many things, like how much you've drunk, eaten, if you need the toilet, salt, etc. Measuring is also a great option :)

Thanks, I like that, brilliant, not seen them....

I posted a post on a similar thing a couple of weeks ago. I only weigh myself every three weeks as I have problems with fluid retention and it is gut wrenching to see a gain of several pounds after the perfect week especially as I have so much to lose. I can see why Joe Wicks tells people to throw them out.

I probably use the tape measure more than the scales. The advantage of the tape over the scales is that it can show you exactly which parts of your body are actually going down :)

It's definitely a good idea, most of us rely on the scales more and it's not healthy really, I know how I felt this week when I stepped on them, I think if you can resist temptation to weigh you'll be more pleasantly surprised, I like Your week 3 rule....πŸŽ‰

So many times over the years I've been obsessive with the dam things and they have put an end to many attempts at losing weight. I would sometimes get on them 3 or 4 times a week. My advice to anybody that does this is DON'T!

That's the thing the scales don't tell you anything about body composition.
