I have gained a lot of weight due to having a breakdown and severe depression. Doctor said it could be due to some of my tablets I take is this true

hi, I had a breakdown a few years ago which has changed my life completely. although I'm stronger now I still battle against it every day. Some of the tablets can contribute towards your weight gain but I found my relationship with food goes up and down and I tend to overeat constantly. Well done you for having the strength to join the group and post on here. You can do this, you're stronger than you realise. Good luck. New year, new you.

Hi Madge,

Wish you well and hope that you find your strength to overcome all obstacles.

Keep pushing and never give up! Sometimes when we are down we tend to take food as a solace. If you are mindful of it you may be able to reduce the indulgences.

Keep health as a challenge, go for recharging walks, push your body a bit and it will have great calming effect on your mind as well.

Exercise is the greatest medicine. Keep stepping up and step into the new year with renewed energy and hope.

You will do well. All the best :)

Welcome Madge.

Some great replies already.

YellowRose has already provided you with an official welcome and if you follow the link she's left, you will find everything you need to get started.

Included in the Newbie Club post is a link to the NHS 12 week plan, which many people here have used to great success. I joined on Jan 1 of this year and it changed my life around. I haven't dieted, as such, but have learnt to live healthily by following the ideas in that plan.

Wishing you all the best.

Like the others have said, I can't comment on your tablets. Whether or not they do have an effect, if you want to make some progress on your weight you will need to tackle your eating. When you're ready, take a clear, honest look at what you are eating, and decide where to make your first changes.

Wishing you well :)
