Lunch ideas please...

Hit me with some lunch ideas please.. Minus bread 🍞. Bread is my biggest downfall 😢 need some ideas so that if I had scrambled egg on wholemeal toast for breakfast, I then don't want to have a sandwich for lunch too. I usually eat so much bread because I get stuck on what else to have instead. Bread, takeaways & chocolate I think is the reason I've put weight on. If you don't mind throwing some ideas my way..thanks πŸ˜ƒ

I am also avoiding bread. I usually have soup or salad depending on the weather. Could also have chicken, fish, avocado, boiled egg, pasta, couscous, cheese

Bread is my weakness too. Lunch in general is. I just started making my own soup again and omitted bread. Good luck

Thanks. I do like soup but always feels right dipping bread in 😁

I have a microwave a work, so take a chunky veg soup to work - the recipe can be found in the recipe section

It's very filling and low calories as well :)

Have a look in daily diary for other ideas and the recipe sections :)

I agree with moreless about checking out the DD but just going by my journey this year... I used to have quite a bit of bread but just kept reducing it over the months, whilst staying within my calorie limit.

My lunches now are often salads, so that will be some kind of meat, fish or cheese, with a fair heap of salad (another big change for me this year) and 30ml of salad cream. I didn't think it was possible to remove bread from a salad but now I don't miss it.

To respond to your penultimate line... you could live on those things (kind of) as long as you didn't eat too much of them. If you eat more calories than your body needs you will put weight on and conversely in order to lose weight :)

Cutting out bread will be the hardest πŸ€”

You really don't have to cut it out. I still have bread, maybe not every day, but pretty regularly. Try balancing it out.

Don't fret everything from day one, you/we are on a long journey trying to change the habits of our lifetime. Small changes are more likely to stick and changing everything at once is more likely to make our minds and bodies saying 'to hell with it'.

It's not a race and we need to enjoy it all as much as possible.

Egg with spinach ,advocado is nice as well.

I have cut out bread completely,I could eat at least 4 slices in one go .

Try cutting g out one item at a time

Good luck.

I love spinach with advocardo. I also like smoked salmon with poached eggs , and spinach and goats cheese omelet. Bit of a theme going on here !

Nice ,so long as you enjoy it that's fine.

You have to enjoy or it makes it hard work.

Hi Nikkired, I'm famous for my jacket potato with tuna for lunch.

I may try another filling so I won't get bored of this.

Some days I have soup and sandwich or soup and salad.

Concerned thanks so much for this I'll definitely omit this and get a much better alternative.

Hey, you don't have to remove a jacket from your menu. It is a high GI food but if you mix it with a low GI food, such as your tuna, then this lowers the overall glycaemic effect of the total meal.
