My story

Hello everyone, I'm new and hope to use this forum and the 12 week plan to get me started on a better and healthier me for 2018.Look forward to sharing my journey with all you fellow newbies and get some tips from those who have succeeded. I feel like I have been trying and failing to lose weight for the past 10 years and rather than going down I just seem to be getting bigger which is very soul destroying. I just can't seem to do it but I can't give up because now it is starting to affect my health so not just about the way I look or clothes size anymore. Please feel free to share any tips or things you have found that have worked.

Hi Battleofthebulge and welcome to the weight loss forum.

I've been where you are now and the best move I ever made was joining this friendly and very supportive forum. Have a good read through all the information and join in with one of the weigh ins and the weight will soon start to go down. :)

You are invited to join our Newbie Club, where you can meet other new members who are just beginning their weigh loss journeys too. Here's the link for all the information you will need to find your way around the forum:

Write a brief note to introduce yourself to other newbies and I'm sure you'll be making friends, in no time.

Good luck with your first week.

Thanks so much for the warm welcome. I will join the newbie group and think that the forum will be a big help in keeping me going. Starting is the easy part it's keeping it up that is my weakness!

Hello and welcome Battleofthebulge . There seem to be a lot of Newbies around (can't think why - must be the time of the year ;) ) so you'll be in good company.

I've found this forum so friendly and helpful. If you follow the links YellowRose has given you, you'll soon find your way to the weekly weigh-in and Daily Diary etc. If you get involved on here, you'll get support through the good times and the blips.

All the best for 2018 :)

Welcome to the best place to be for the support you are looking for.

Read the information in the link that YellowRose55 sent and come on here regularly for support, inspiration and motivation.

You need to decide for you how you will tackle this and we will all support you. People do lots of different things and often change what they do. It does take time though, the weight didn't go on quickly and it is best to lose it slowly as there is a better chance of keeping it off.

Looking forward to seeing you around the forum.

I have struggled with my weight for years. What kick started me was the look on the surgeons face when he told me to loose weight so I could have my operation to treat severe acid reflux. I began with changing habits and lots of walking. My initial change was having cake once a week and not every other day. Then I began counting calories and it all paid off. I had a mantra "I want to be a size 16" now in a 14/16 it's a wonderful feeling! However this is the important bit maintaining I'm determined not to mess up and ruin all my hard work. Go for it I'm sure with support you will reach your goal a bit at a time. Have a lovely day.
