Day 40

Surrounded by food. The battle going on in my right this second is this......

"Go on, have a day off. You deserve it. Just one large pack of crisps and some chocolates. Go on, enjoy yourself as you can always start again tomorrow"

On and on this is going today. There's every type of food here and it's really hard being around folks who are eating away with no concerns at all.

I think all I can do is post here and remind myself I only eat 3 times a day full stop.

Hope your all doing okay.

Well done for your determination. I think you are exactly right, you know what the right think is for you to do - and you are doing it. Very well done!

Well done for posting MrJoshua

Try and get as many glasses of water down you as you can. If there's a chance as well, do something. Can you go for a walk, the longer the better?

You can do this!

Also have a look at that 8 week badge which is your determination to date.

Don't forget also that you've lost 7 lbs so far that you'll never have to carry around with you again.

The foods at work so no getting away from it. Can't win the battle I guess unless in the thick of it at times

Very true. I make desserts now because even if I didn't I'd just eat a lump of butter mixed with sugar... so it's a case of facing my demons (or getting into the thick of the battle).

Sorry you are struggling. I am too. My weight is up seven pounds now and I thought I was doing real good with the diet. One carb and I balloon up! We just have to keep trying and keep resisting. You can be strong.

Melhall please take another look at your half way there photo and read what you said about it. I'm really upset to hear you are struggling at the moment - you are so supportive of everyone! This is just a blip while you adjust without the tablets. Grit your teeth and don't let those bad choices take over. Tuck into more at breakfast to satisfy your hunger. Good luck and keep posting

It is a right pain when there's loads of food around! And somehow seeing other people eating somehow feels like permission to eat. :P I've found that anyway that no matter how full I am, seeing somebody else eat makes me want to eat too. I've started having my lunch late so I'm the last person eating. I can put it off when I know I'll be having something soon, but not so much if I've already eaten and don't have anything else for later.

Good luck with the avoidance!

Sometimes when I find myself in that situation I stop and look at what is around me then remind myself of how ill some of that food makes me feel. How bloated it will make me. How certain foods give me reflux and bad gas.

Then I logically tell myself I don't want to feel like that any more. I don't 'need' any of that food. And I actually don't really 'want' to eat any of it.

Then I make a beeline for any fruit platter or get a refreshing drink or cup of tea :)

The more I try this the easier it is getting to just walk away and not feel cheated/deprived.

Not saying it works every time but certainly getting easier.

Really good advice about remembering the after effects

Can you get out for a lovely winter stroll?

Walk away from it MrJoshua and focus on how good it feels to be in control. One slip up leads to another but one success leads to so much more........

You know A day off would be crazy... only fooling yourself.

Do plan a nice treat though... some unusual fruit or a coffee somewhere nice.

You're doing fab😊
