Day 31

I wanted to eat bad foods last night. It was such a battle in my head. I was telling myself to just have a day off and that I can start again tomorrow. This would have led to a binge and weeks of feeling ill due to eating £10 of sweets and crisps a day.

Eating well is like a form of self respect for me just as overeating is a form of self harm.

I'm glad I didn't eat last night.

Thanks everyone for your posts and being here. Have a lovely day

Very well put MrJoshua

“Eating well is a form of self respect”. 😊

Well done! Do you have a ‘go to’ snack for when it all gets too much? I have found a Waitrose tea - manuka honey, peach and rosemary- that takes the edge off those sugar cravings, or a few walnuts? Retraining our food intake can be hard but it sounds as if you are doing well. This forum is a great place for support and advice when you need it!

Well done for winning that battle...you can sympathise with the feelings of any 'addictive' type of personality can't you. Learn to recognise those times of day when the temptations become particularly tough and plan ahead so that you are busy doing something to take your mind off food. Take up a new hobby....furniture restoration? DIY? Write your life story! Anything to keep you out of the kitchen and busy.

DIY is on the cards. I painted all our doors the colours of the rainbow!

Well done for resisting temptation MrJoshua , the more you resist the easier it will become. Eventually your new habits will become second nature.

Feeding your body healthy food is showing it the respect it deserves and it will thank you for it by giving you a long and healthy life. Well done and good luck for your challenges going forward. Keep visiting this forum as we all benefit from each other’s experiences. EJ

That's great news, it's never easy but you did it and each time you/we do just makes us stronger.

I agree with your statement about respect and harm.

Well done for winning the latest battle of the junk, I know that's really difficult. :D

Just a thought, is there something else you can do with the £10? Save the money you would have spent on junk for a fabulous goal reward. Maybe that would help motivate you on the difficult days to not spend the money on junk and avoid the binge. :)

MrJoshua well done for not giving in to temptation, it isn't worth it. You are worth more than that. I sometimes want unhealthy foods and go to a shop look at rows of sweets and chocolates then think about how much weight I have lost and more importantly how much better I feel. Then I say to myself "why would I?" Because I am worth more than that and so are you. It will get easier. Good luck

Congratulations on resisting- I have mixed fortunes when it comes to resisting- it’s easier if nothing in the house to tempt me- which is crisps! I’m giving crisps up in December so hopefully I will continue to resist
