Hi guys, not a very nice question but, does anybody else suffer with bad breath when they diet? Whenever I diet I notice my mouth always tastes bad, it never does when I eat junk food though! Also any tips to prevent/treat it whilst dieting thanks x

Hi Charley6

Suggestions could include chewing gum, extra teeth brushing, mouthwash etc. Check the foods you are eating for strong odours?

I am sure you will get many responses here...

During weight loss, ketones (the by-product of fat burning) are excreted through your breath as well as through the urine. Unfortunately, that can cause unpleasant breath for some people who excrete quite a few ketones that way.

Yeah I stay away from gum too for that reason haha, maybe see if you can get a mouth spray and just drink water every so often xx
