Lost 5lb

Hi everyone,

I haven't posted in a while but thought I would give it a go as maybe I can get some tips or perhaps keep others inspired. After hitting 30 (I'm 36 now) I started to realize I could no longer eat what I wanted and still stay slim and my weight slowly started to creep up. However, after constantly worrying about body image etc, it felt like a small relief and even nice to not worry and I just embraced my fuller body. Eating what I want etc. I had lost weight in the past but always resorted to drastic and silly measures only to have the weight pile back on. After becoming pregnant for a third time and suffering from GD and heartburn i realized I need to make a change. My baby just turned one and I'm determined to make lifestyle changes. Gone are the short cuts and I have stuck to eating healthy not a chocolate , sweet, sugary beverage or diet drink in sight. I eat one main meal either fish or chicken with Steam veg. I eat fruit and nuts in moderate proportion and drink green tea, lots of water and I have my detox drink of lemon ACV and warm water and honey. Excercise in the mornings cardio with toning with kettle bells. I have stuck it out for 3 weeks now and feel great and lost 5lb. The old me would have had not been happy and resorted to quick fixes. Hope this inspires slowly but surely I will get there 👊🏽

Well don’t that’s a great achievement especially not being hungry or starving yourself. I’ve found it’s very tedious doing this complete lifestyle change sometimes. As I’ve lost 3 stone and have another 3 to go. I had a month off from the gym but started back again yesterday. So hopefully will be back on track and do as well as you x

Thank you, everyone. I know what you mean by finding the complete lifestyle change tedious, I feel the same most times. Personally I've never had any restraint when it comes to anything sweet or sugary left in the house that it became a bit of a joke. My hubby would buy cans of coke and it would take me, alone two days to finish them off which is crazy. I've had to really constrain myself. I've become a complete hermit not socializing (which isn't difficult for me as I'm a bit of an introvert anyway) and dread family do's. Especially when the same people that make comments about you putting weight on are the exact same people that try to get you to 'fall of the wagon' when you tell them you don't or can't eat anything!! I've been really strict with myself when it comes to what I eat and started exercising regularly and once I am at my goal weight and at a healthy bmi I plan to slowly start re introducing some grains and carbs and maybe allow myself a 'cheat day' and exercise maybe 3 days rather than 5 days a week. Honesty I don't see myself going back to eating all that junk again. Initially I was a bit dismayed that I wasn't losing weight quickly and as much as expected (considering the amount of calories I've reduced and exercise and exertion I've re introduced) however I have to tell myself to be patient. I don't have a lot to lose all things considered, but it feels like a mountain right now and I need all the motivation I can get.

Do you weigh yourself every day or once a week ?? I find that if I weigh myself every two days I feel like I’ve got more control over what im eating and how much I consume. For me once a week isn’t enough lol x
