I have been following a healthy eating plan for nearly 18 months now and lost 2,5 stones. Then I went away on holiday and put some of the weight back on. I have lost my way and can't seem to find the motivation to follow the plan consistently these days. Some days are so difficult and I want to just throw in the towel. I also have PCOS which makes weight loss challenging. I still have about 5 more stones to shift. It will take a long time but I hope by joining this group, I will become inspired and motivated to continue my journey.

Hi welcome, you have taken the step simmi2003 by asking for assistance to get you back on track. Everyone falls off the wagon at some stage and often more than once! Someone from the administrators will reply to you but since it is 00:50 in the UK it maybe several hours! They will invite you the newbies forum which helps guide you round the forum to get the full benefit of it. I wish you well on your future weight loss, the fact that you have lost weight before stands you in good stead since you know you can do it- there are several challenges to help motivate with the exercise and various subgroups to help with diet- weekly weigh-ins, diet diary so you can get some advice on how balanced your diet is but also give you ideas.

Welcome simmi2003 and congratulations on losing such an impressive amount of weight.

It's very easy to fall off the wagon and you're definitely not alone. You've clearly not given up and still fighting so well done on that also.

As RG07 has already mentioned, an administrator will reply shortly. Follow the link they provide as that will lead you lots of information on how you can structure your continuing journey to a healthier way of life and also how to get the most out of this forum.

My main tip would be to get as involved in this forum as you can, as we are always helping each other.

All the best!

Hello simmi2003 and welcome to the weight loss forum. You already lost 2.5 stones which is a third of what you want to lose and is a massive amount, you should give yourself credit for this. OK, nobody said this journey would be easy and may be filled with setbacks, as you are finding at the moment. The key is to draw a line under your slip and get back to the discipline you must have had previously to lose such an enormous amount of weight.

Try to think of this processs as taking you to a healthier and happier lifestyle and keep focussed on your goals. You probably know that your life will be so much better and easier once you have lost the weight.

There are many people on this site with health problems or taking medication which makes weight loss difficult; however, it is still possible for them, and with help and support from this site it will be possible for you too. Keep using the site for support and motivation. In time you may find you are also able to give support and motivation to others who need help. Good luck and best wishes EJ

Thank you NannyEJ. Yes, sometimes it's so difficult to recognise my hard efforts for it's true worth. I worked very hard to lose that weight, and I'm going to chin up and continue chipping away at my losses. I do struggle daily with sticking to my healthy plan, but I have to look back to see where I once was and what I did achieve, accept that sometimes life is very challenging and there will be huge setbacks, but to use that experience and keep moving forwards. Thank you for your kind words. It's very much appreciated. 🙏🏾🤗🙋🏽

Morning simmi2003

I too have an thyroid problem. (underactive). I found just making small goals was the way to go, as you reach one you are inspired to go another step.

I also try to plan a day ahead so I am not stressed about meals.(it seems to work for me as I am planning for both my husband and myself). Hope this helps and you can be motivated to lose some more.

Best of luck this week.xxx

Thank you Marion. Yes, I agree, one day at a time for me is the way forward. I can sometime put myself under so much pressure merely to fulfill a weight loss target and then get so despondent if I don't achieve it. I'm going to focus more on how I'm feeling in my clothing and my mindset rather than stress about a number on the scale. Best wishes to you as well. 🙏🏾🙋🏽

Hi simmi2003 your clothing is a good indicator of how you are doing. Probably better than thinking about the numbers all the time. It is something I have learned since joining this group. Enjoy your week.xxx

As long as you keep going than you are a WINNER regardless of the time it takes to hit your target weight so WELL DONE! Sometimes we take longer than others and that DOESN'T MATTER because at the end of the journey all that matters is that you LOST THE WEIGHT! Keep going. It's taking me twice longer than others to lose my weight and have very LOW days when I want to give up and cry as I am HUNGRY.. but the next day it's ok. Just accept there will be low days but you'll get through... YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

Thanks so much ZBrown. Some days the struggles are so very real. I, too sometimes want to cry, but I try to be realistic and tell myself it's my life journey, and some days I will stop and have a break, and on other days I will move full steam ahead! Best wishes on your journey too. We can definitely do this! 🙏🏾🙋🏽🤗

I'll sound repetitive now :) but posting your good days and your bad days here will make a huge difference. The times I've posted here in despair and been overwhelmed by the caring responses with lots of great advice and to me, more importantly, to know that I'm not alone.

I started KETO diet 3 months ago and the food is great even though like any diet you get 'fed up' with all of it! lol BUT my MAIN winning advice is THROW AWAY JUNK from the house. I have NO sweets nor biscuits etc as that is too tempting HOWEVER as I do have kids I try and buy junk and some sweets that I DON'T LIKE lol so I can't be tempted and I stopped by baguette as I'd eat the whole one any time!!!

I am faced with some junk food at work too! People often bring in baked goodies, sweets and chocolates into the office, so I'm being good and sticking to having my fruit and my water. I still am sometimes tempted to buy a box of goodies for home, but now I look for healthier alternatives instead. I do have occasional treats because I don't want to feel as if I am forbidden from eating anything, but when I do eat a treat I will adjust some other foods on that day. Food Temptation is around most places so I am working at getting better at choosing foods consciously.

Hi, just read your post. I think you've done amazing sticking to an 18 month plan #hero! You just need to re connect with what motivated you in the first place. For me, it was seeing a photo of myself that my daughter had taken and really a combination of a lot of things. Hope you get your mojo back! You've done it once, keep going!!

Thanks Skinnymini. I'm doing that right now. Reflecting back to my first week and first month, thankfully I have kept food diaries, so I'm going to replicate some of those meals and see how I get on. Thank you for spurring me on. Much appreciated. 🤗🙋🏽
