Non-scale Victories

I’ve been a little slack recently - not been quite so good with eating and haven’t found time to exercise as I’m now super busy training to be a teacher. My start weight in August was 15st12lbs, and I’m now 13st3lbs so I don’t feel quite so bad about slower progress (my target weight is 11st12lbs).

I wanted to just see what NSVs other people have had - my sister was throwing out a jacket and offered it to me first - although a little snug, I could do up a size 12 jacket! That was a big thing for me - and I wanted to hear what other people see as victories?

Yay well done on the loss already and wishing you all the best with the teacher training :)

I am dreaming of size 14 - I have gone from size 22 to size 18 and some 16's ;)

I am mostly 14’s at the moment - the odd 16 here and there. But buying a jumper in a size medium was so nice - a medium!

ooo a medium I wish ;) well done you :)

What an amazing weight loss! Well done. Free clothes bonus 👍

I think learning about myself has been the best part of my journey. Bit deep for a Saturday morning? That I CAN eat forbidden fruits and it's ok! 👍

Interesting topic, and congrats on your loss so far. I've loved finding clothes at the bottom of drawers that I can now wear. But my biggest NSV came last night. I was having a horrible evening, fighting with the children. Finally got them into bed, collapsed in a heap and had my standard stress reaction - lets get some comfort food. Lately I've been able to mostly resist this reaction through sheer willpower, but it is still strong. But last night I didn't even have to resist. The thought came, I knew I didn't want it, didn't even get to the kitchen, so stayed sitting down and just thought things through. Then made a cup of herbal tea and went to bed.

Is it possible that my biggest issue with food - stress eating - is finally losing its grip?

I'm really happy for you. Sounds like the evil shoulder devil is on her way out!! :)

There is always a feeling of pride in yourself when forgotten clothes start to fit :) Well done.

I've noticed my shoulders look smaller in the mirror. Definitely noticed my face is changing. And a big one the other day was when I had to climb the stairs up to the mezzanine floor at work. Usually I would be puffing by the top and starting to break into a sweat (there's probably only a dozen steps but they are steep and shallow). I didn't realise until I was back down in the office that I didn't puff and wasn't overheating :)

Being able to walk up stairs without feeling like you are going to die is fantastic isn't it kiwikyd-nz . My big NSV apart from those above is being able to shop on the high Street :)

I'm looking forward to the day when I can go shopping for an hour and come out with three or more items, instead of shopping for three hours and being lucky to come out with one :)

That day isn't that far in the future either all we have to do is keep chipping the weight off one piece at a time. Cheesey but true :)

I saw someone is the supermarket I hadn’t seen for a couple of years and I saw her do a double take, if i hadn’t spoken to her she wouldn’t have recognised me 😊

Fantastic feeling isn't it and this place really helped me to get there. Still a way to go mind you and it is important that I keep telling myself that. I won't be happy until I see maintainer by my name :)
