Hi! I started using this just under 5 weeks ago. I've had very little luck in previous attempts at losing weight but after 4 weeks doing this, I have lost 1 stone and I'm extremely chuffed with myself. The reason for all this started after I broke my back in 5 places, my pelvis into 3 & shatteref my left knee & that I need more surgery, but it won't happen until I lose weight. I was told by 2 well known diet clubs that because I'm in a wheelchair that it would be difficult to loss the weight .... well I have lost it by calorie counting! I indend to carry on until I'm the right weight for my height & build!

Thank you all for the support! The best part about calorie counting is that if i have that 'donut' I dont feel guilty.

The only problem I'm having is getting weighed! Its not possible to get weighed every week so I'm doing as & when I can.

Aga8n, tjank you for the welcome!

Chuffed? So would I be! Well done! I’ve been scrupulously writing everything I eat down, I have not had any chocolate, biscuits, icecream, whatever I indulged in since I gave up drinking and smoking 20 months ago. In that time, I put on 12 kgs, I’ve been on my new healthy diet for 8 weeks but have only lost 3kgs. I now think that my ancient scales leave a bit to the imaginationand that what I thougt was about 100gs grapes could well have been 500! So I’m going to invest in some accurate scales. I think I fooled myself thinking that as I was eating healthier foods, I could consume them without checking quantities! Won’t give up, I’m like a dog with a bone. But congratulations Bob for keeping your spirit and determination.

I found it easier not to weigh myself regularly, but that's me. Because I don't own scales I have to get weighed either at GP's or at the hospital. I think it's better for me that way. Less is good! lol

I feel like I've stalled a bit this week. I don't drink booze, I've also quit smoking plus the dieting, frels like a fail this week. So I've decided next Monday I'm going to be on the ball.

I have to say it sounds like both of us have had a dimilar problem. I'm determined to be straight laced from next week. Shout if you need anything.

Monday’s the day then! Let’s get weighing and counting accurately! I agree with you that watching the scales too often can be depressing, I don’t mean food scales but body scales! It can be discouraging to think you’ve been good for a week yet the scales say + 2lbs! Maybe I’ll go to the Vet! They have a walk on scale right by the entrance!!!! Whatever you do, keep at it and keep laughing! Though you must be in excrutiating pain! Thanks for your reply, it was my first ever!

You've just given me an idea ... kittens go to vets Monday ... I'll stand on scsles there for a quick weigh-in! I'm not joking! LOL Watch out vets! 😉

I suppose, on one occasion at least, we’ll have to weigh the shoes separately to be able to take that off total!!! Gottabe fair! 😂

I'm going in my slippers! I have no pride when its doing something important to me! I used to work at this vets so i don'tthink they'll mind plus their scales never move & are calibrated regular as clockwork.

The slippers will come off & I'll wear my regular wegh-in clothes.

Fingets crossed! 😉

I usually weigh myself 1st thing in morning, I’d have to go in a kaftan!

I thought of you this morning as we seem to have similar sense of humour! I do a fair amount of aerobic exercise, I have 2 dogs and walk them every day apart from my day off, Sunday. NHS site said I had to increase strengtheningexercise. Thought I’d try jogging but it’s not for me, it hurts my knees, my anckles, my back and after 150 steps I’m so out of breath it takes me 5 mns to get over it, so I now do fast walking. Then I thoughtthat if I added weights it would force muscles a bit, so I invested in 2x1 kg and 2x2kgs bracelets. 1 kg on wrists and 2kgs on anckles. Started fast walking with them, then decided that it would help even more if I did arm movements at the same time as fast walking. Fortunately, I live in a quiet village in France so I think I’ve managed to avoid witnesses. From a distance, should there be any, I wonder what they’d make of this woman walking as if her arse is on fire whilst rotating her arms as if she’s trying to take off!

Good luck at vet, weirdly, I have to go there this aft, I’ll weigh in! Good luck! And keep laughing!

I didn't get a chance at the vets. It was way too busy! lol

I'm limited on exercise as I'm in a wheelchair but I try not to let that stop me.

I need to find some scales soon as I haven't been weighed for nearly 4 weeks now!

I don't feel like I've lost anything! Knowing my luck I've gained back the stone I took off in the 1st place.☺

I'll keep you posted!
