Ready made frozen haddock fillet (222 cals) with celeriac chips (200g = 42 cals) sprayed with spray oil (20 cals) and peas (40 cals).

Fish and chips for just 325 calories!

This looks appetising, Pineapple27 - I've never tried celeriac, let alone as chips - so that is something new for me to try. What kind of taste does it have? Is it like celery? Or like fennel or aniseed flavours? I have no idea, but it looks great! :-)

Yes, a slight celery flavour. The chips don't go crispy and won't end up very brown. But I don't think of these as a replacement for chips, but as a healthy alternative which offer far more in nutritional terms.... and are not processed at all.

You can also make celeriac mash - the flavour compliments fish well.

I have also recently made it into "rice" and my next challenge will be to make a risotto with it. Would like to try it without any rice whatsoever.... theguardian.com/lifeandstyl...

Some nice recipes there - including the 'Parsnip ice-cream' - that looks good too! :-)

Looks much tastier, than battered fish and greasy chips.

I'm always very disappointed when I have fish and chips from a takeaway - and probably wouldn't fancy that any more. These little oven ready fillets are lovely and crisp..... I think I'd possibly prefer real chip chop chips made you!

Ooh now that does look delicious, I've never tried chips made from celeriac. Thank you sharing 😊

Please don't expect them to be like regular chips, or you'll be disappointed :-) but I have them regularly as a healthy and low calorie alternative. Some people just don't like the flavour of celeriac.... but it's worth a try!
