Doing great after having high ac1 over a 1 1/2 yrs ago. I’ve lost 180 pounds. My blood pressure is normal again. The doctor has high hope soon I will not be a diabetic any more. But will have to keep watch over my carbs always. It’s been over 5 days no insulin. Still have about 70 more lose. But still journal my foods and watching what size. I keep my food measure cups and spoon close I still weigh my foods. When we go out always ask for steam veggie and no butter. No bread basket, order smallest steak or chicken no potato. But will order nothing on a small sweet potato if I have saved up my carbs. I try to eat most of my carbs early. Larger meals for lunch, light meal at night. Thanks for all the help from my supporters on here. Hope to be here for you. We can do it together. Learning as I go..

That is really good progress and encouraging for others who have high blood pressure or type 2 diabetes. Once the message gets more widespread that type 2 diabetes can be reversible if you lose fat, this forum will get oversubscribed!

That is brilliant news Vickiejane

i am really interested to hear what you have done - is it just carb reduction? and lose the weight?

I ask as I am being monitored currently for BP and have to go back to GP on Monday to get my blood results

I am using 'cron-o meter' now as it has all vitamins, carbs, fats etc :)

1200 calories is low have you done the BMI calculator?

Please see the Newbie Club link which has the info in it healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

I like that idea, that you change up the food you eat. I may need to consider that.

I learn to cook food I did like but do now. Just add a little this and that it works. Try to plan a night of something new and make it a whole meal. You can bake it, steam it grill it or micro it add spices, little cheese, or fruit have a great time doing it. I pressure cook for fast meals and slow cook. I freeze left overs in case I need a healq Meal fast. To have it on hand so I will stop off for fast foods, or lunch they even make slow cookers to take to work. You will love new ideas notthe same old foods
