Good evening/morning all lovely daily diarists.

Today's poster is really for me, as I haven't been good at this during the week. But hosting the daily diary has reminded me about how important this is.

So, regulars, you know the drill, tell us what you've got planned, newbies, join in, tell us what you intend to eat, the calorie count and your target calories. Don't forget to comment lots to each other, we all need some encouragement to keep going sometimes!

Haven't really thought about tomorrow, so a rapid plan for me:

B - porridge with mashed banana and almond butter - 400 cals

L - leftover chicken and veg satay stir fry - 300 cals

D - Spicy chicken fajhita wrap - 500 cals

Saturday night film snacks - 200 cals

Takes me to a total of 1400 cals, I really need to aim a tiny bit lower, but I keep going quite far over, so small steps!

Exercise - gentle walk as I still have a heavy cold which has been annoying me for a week now.

Happy weekend to all! I can't wait to hear from you all.

Hi salcheq, love the poster. Tomorrow I'll have

B- half grapefruit, 25, Greek yoghurt 195, then go for a run

brunch - bacon and fried egg, not sure calories, about 500

D- sausage meat and onion pie ( one of the children is making it so I'll have to try and take some of the pastry off), runner beans - 500

snacks - peanuts and raisins, peanut butter and apple, glass wine, 500

that's my target of 1700. Hope you have a good day. I find that posting my meals on the daily diary really helps me to think ahead and then stick to what I've planned

Hope the child cooked dinner goes well!! I love the two stage breakfast idea.

After watching pie week on bake off he wants to make a pie. I hope it comes out all right cos there's no plan b for tea tomorrow if it doesn't. I'll be doing the park run at 9, so not enough time for a proper breakfast beforehand, but I'll need something to keep me going

You'll have to let us know how the pie goes! Sounds lovely.

Good idea to have a bite to eat before your run then brunch later. Sausage meat and onion pie sounds delicious hope you can resist the pastry crust. You must have clever offspring to cook that for you.

How lovely to have one of your children cooking tea, absolutely to be encouraged and therefor eaten. Enjoy it.

Lots of lovely food there.

My kids used to love cookng dinner on a Friday night. Started with microwave chips and pizza and progressed to things like Bolognaise :)

Sausage and onion pie sounds yum :)

Hi Salcheq . Thanks for hosting today. Poster is so true. Sorry your cold is still hanging about and hope you feel better soon.

Your menu sounds good. Hope you enjoy your film night. What's the film?

Tomorrow will be difficult for me to plan as it's my sister's birthday and I'm meeting her and my other three sisters for a late lunch in town. I'm determined to avoid cake but as I'm not driving will have a glass or two of wine.

So I'll have an early breakfast of porridge with strawberries and Greek yoghurt - 367 cals

Lunch - ?? let's say around 700 cals or possibly more with the wine.

Dinner - Not sure I'll be hungry enough to eat.

I might fall short of my calorie allowance but maybe I can make up for it on Sunday.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Film will be a Harry Potter, we've been working out way through them, and I had the good fortune to go with on my daughter's year 6 trip to Harry Potter world this week, amazing!

Good morning everyone :) Thank you for hosting Salcheq and I do hope both your and Ceal's colds get better soonest.

Your poster is so true and we are human so can fail now and then, I say.

I have a confession to make ......I didn't get to the gym yesterday as I had had a very bad night but did have an energetic and busy day.

My DD plan for today should be:

B - bacon and scrambled egg and an apple (am trying a week without coffee as from Friday)

L - tuna (or perhaps for a change a sausage roll from the butcher on the market), green salad and yoghurt with honey

S - Chilli con carne with a green vegetable and fruit with cream

Plenty of water and a brisk walk into town to go to the market followed by gardening in the afternoon.

Enjoy your Saturday everyone ......

PS I have a pound of minced lamb in my freezer - any ideas for a menu, please? I had planned to use it for the stuffed aubergine recipe but bought too much so froze it!

My Saturday is already coming to an end.

Breakfast was poached egg, avocado, cherry tomato & Brie (270)

Frooze Ball (like a bliss ball) and Medi plate - hummus, cucumber, capsicum, olives, feta and should be anchovies (yuk) so added thin slice of meatloaf from fridge (280)

Took the dog for a walk to take my library books back - 4.2km round trip with plenty of ups and downs so a good workout.

Another Frooze Ball, 100g shaved ham and an apple through the afternoon (320)

Dinner was Basa fish fillet and mushroom risotto made with cauliflower rice (350)

Total 1220

Plenty left if i want a snack later

Also been bouncing around the room off and on to a bit of Rage Against the Machine for the past couple of hours :D

Salcheq profile image
Salcheq1kg in reply to kiwikyd-nz

Love the sound of bouncing around the room! Only 7am here though, so might alarm the family if I start that right now ....

Like the sounds of your Medi plate, what a yummy selection.

Thanks for hosting today's DD Salcheq and I can relate to your poster too as I've been struggling the last few weeks but managed to get back in line this week.

Have a good day everyone. :)

Salcheq profile image
Salcheq1kg in reply to YellowRose55

Glad you've managed to get back in line YellowRose55. I've been really on and off with episodes of unplanned biscuit snacking. I know exactly why I'm doing it - I'm so close to target and fit my clothes nicely, so I'm not motivated, combined with a bit of a stressful few weeks which is always a trigger for me.

YellowRose55 profile image
YellowRose55 in reply to Salcheq

I know what you mean with the on and off episodes, I'm the same at the moment but glad to say on track right now. Good luck with reaching your target. :)

Hello Salcheq - thanks for hosting x that is such a great poster! It’s easy to give up & tell ourselves we’ll never get there or we’re not good enough but the TRUTH is we can & we are!

My stats are:-

Start weight : 62.5kgs

Last week: 59kgs

Today’s : 58.6kgs

This weeks loss : 0.9 (just under 1lb)

Happy with that as I’m eating everything I want (within reason) & not calorie counting as I’m trying to be gentle with myself with my new vegan /new routine lifestyle x

Looking forward to hearing your weigh in news y’all x have a great weekend too 😎

Salcheq profile image
Salcheq1kg in reply to Susie54

Hi Susie54, cracking loss, and you'll want to add that into the weigh in strand, as this is daily diary. I'd love to have you come back here and tell us your food plans for today on your new vegan plan, always good to hear about new ways of eating.

Susie54 profile image
Susie54 in reply to Salcheq

Ooh sorry; I always do that as I’m on my phone 📞 not the laptop!

Thanks for encouragement!

Breakfast: 1/2 avocado on GF toast (no spread) a splash of olive oil & s/p x

Lunch: enormous stir fry of marinated tofu pieces, mushroom, peppers, spinach - splash olive oil, lots of reduced salt soy sauce

Eve meal: leftover veg moussaka with rocket & maybe parsnip/sweet potato chips (a little oil & salt)

Tomorrow we’re out all day with lunch/tea provided so will take my own humous with crudités, pot of chopped apple with a few mixed nuts & a couple of wholegrain rice cakes with peanut butter with a banana ... just in case!!

I’ve stepped up my walking dog pace & using “active 10” app set to 2 daily ones x it certainly stops me dawdling!!

Hi Salcheq, how exciting that you visited the HP studios! That is high on my wishlist :-D

I'm doing an extra shift at work this morning, then will be rushing home to make birthday cake for my daughter's 10th birthday. It's on Monday but we have a party tomorrow, so husband and I will need to do an emergency tidy up too. Busy busy!

B - just had it, two eggs and mushrooms fried in a little oil,a slice of sourdough toast with butter, 380

L - creamy mushrooms on toast, guessing around 300

D - bolognese and courgetti, 400

That's only 1080 so I'll will add more to get me closer to 1500. I'm saving some for cake tomorrow!

Salcheq profile image
Salcheq1kg in reply to

Ooh I want your menu today! So delicious for so few calories.

HP studios was one of those rare places where I felt it was worth the admission charge, expensive, but so cool seeing the actual sets.

DownwardSpiral profile image
DownwardSpiral in reply to

Sounds good Hidden . Im inerested, are the creamy mushrooms shop bought or your own recipe?

in reply to DownwardSpiral

I made them up - fried a couple of huge sliced portobello mushrooms in a little butter, added about 50mls double cream, simmered for a few minutes, served on sourdough toast. Delish!

Sounds lush & simple too, I like that! Another one on the list to try! :-)

Hi Salcheq and everyone! Hope your cold does one soon Salcheq!

Bit late posting as have been for a facial which was lovely..was on a heated bed too so was lovely on my poor back!

Cals to use: 1228

I had same breakfast as yesterday b4 I left..2 small rounds of toast and peanut butter and a cup of tea 207 cals

Came back and have done a spot of gardening which set my back off again so I've just popped in for a peppermint tea and some Thai bites 87 cals.

Pulled beef dinner from Thurs didn't happen in the end as I found chicken that wouldn't be any good so I made a chicken curry instead, so I'm thinking this eve of having the pulled pork, but really fancy it with BBQ sauce, ovenbaked chip's, peas, sweetcorn & cherry toms tonight! 425 cals.

Lunch; Homemade Wholemeal wrap/pizza. With a little tomato puree/cheese/mushrooms/cherry toms/Basil. 10 mins in the oven 351 cals.

Leaves me 158 cals to add any extras throughout the day or if I'm lucky some dark chocolate for this eve! Well earned night in tonight..Can't wait!

Have a happy Saturday everyone! xxx
