Am I crazy feeling this way?

Hi everyone. I'm feeling a bit shame-faced posting this today but this is the typical stage where I completely go off the rails. Since yesterday I have been feeling really hungry (and I am eating enough and yummy food) but I (shame) miss feeling stuffed - eating a bag of crisps and binge-ing out etc etc etc. Somehow my brain is missing that very very full feeling. Has anyone else ever felt this way?

Morning AdriK

Are you drinking eough water? Why not have a look at the Daily Diary to see how others are planning their meals because if you are eating the right amount of calories for you then you should'nt be feeling hungry. Check the BMI calculator to work out your calories.

Have a good day. :)

Hi AdriK, no you're not crazy at all, I know exactly what you mean, and the biggest challenge for me is learning not to overeat when I enjoy it so much. When it gets really bad I actually plan for a high calorie big meal, with much smaller meals for the rest of the day.

I think if you eat moderate amounts for long enough our brains will eventually be satisfied with that! How long 'long enough' is, I still don't know!!

Is it a genuine hunger or an 'I want to eat' emotional hunger? In my experience, the two need to be dealt with differently!! Do you use the daily diaries? Great place for really refining your menu to get every ounce of satisfaction out of your calories.

Good luck and don't beat yourself up about it, honesty with yourself is key, so well done.

Thank you! That is a brilliant idea - offsetting a denser meal with smaller ones.

Yep, I'm on around 1300 - 1400 calories a day, so I can do two 200 cal meals and have a 900 - 1000 meal, which is absolutely huge! I don't do it often, but sometimes do do a sort of 300, 300, 700 pattern which works pretty well too.

Yep I think you just do at times, probably all of us have done it, just a blip and back on it tomorrow :-)

It's normal to miss the stuffed feeling. .. but don't forget that afterwards comes the sick bloated feeling and the guilty feeling knowing that you've overdone it again.

Make sure you're eating enough and properly nourished. You'll get used to enjoying that feeling.

Best wishes to you, you'll ride this one out.

I had a bad week a couple of weeks ago and I did eat crisps, chips and a huge brioche bun with a veggie burger! I felt so full! I had to walk miles to get rid!! I think sometimes we all feel like that! A little of what you fancy does you good! Just don’t go mad like I did! 😂
