😔 had enough now 😢

Feel like I'm posting alot on here always moaning about myself.

Now down to one pair of jeans, my 14s no longer fit me...what is going on with me. I'm due out to a friends birthday tonight and have cancelled my plans yet again because I feel so frumpy and uncomfortable in everything I wear.

Just ordered size 16 jeans online which also don't fit, I spend more time lately crying over everything, nothing seems to help. I feel so disheartened today. I'm normally so full of beans, I just want to feel good about myself again. 😢 x

Hi Have you been counting calories? What have you been eating?

Remember that different brands of clothes aren't all the same - I go in one shop and one size fits, try something similar in another shop the same size and it doesn't

I always cook from scratch so I know exactly what I'm eating. Do suffer with major bloating tummy cramps rashes etc too so my weight might be getting worse due to an allergy, I need to get tested but doctor keeps fobbing me off x

Hi bandicoot1987 I really feel for you.

I'm afraid I haven't read your previous posts. I don't have to read them to know you would have got lots of great replies.

Whether you're calorie counting or not, why not join the Daily Diary and perhaps people here can work with you to make some progress.

Hi bandicoot1987 i hope you have been counting your calories. Also, make sure you start at the top end and if this doesn't work then drop gradually by 100 Cals until you find the right amount of calories each week that drops weight for you. When I first joined I only was eating around 1000cals a day and my body thought I was starving it and turned everything I ate into body fat and this weighs more than eating the extra calories does so it stops me from losing weight and sometimes puts weight on instead. This was my mistake and please don't make this same mistake. Good luck with your journey.

I think that might actually be my problem, I'm not eating enough, I'm having shakes atm for breakfast mainly and sometimes lunch and then just a portion controlled home cooked mainly slimming world meal. I've had 2 shakes today and an apple, sweet potato and squash bake for dinner with broccoli. X

How many carbs and calories is that?

What do you drink?

Are there days you have more?

I only drink water and green tea.

I try and balance my weekly meals as best I can following low fat recipes including slimming world and weight watchers cook books. I'm unsure of how many calories each of them have but I follow them as friends and family have large success stories with them.

Certain things I eat just bloat me out but I don't seem to be able to pin point what even though I keep a food diary. X

If you have a leaky gut it is difficult to pinpoint what is causing the problem because you don't know if you are reacting to something from your last meal, yesterday or two weeks ago.

Eating low-fat isn't balanced eating. The body uses as much fat weight for weight as it does carbohydrate, so if you eat a high-carbohydrate, low-fat diet, much of that carbohydrate is being converted to fat. It's better to eat that as natural fat to give the vitamins and minerals your body needs.

The best you can do is eat real, wholefoods that will minimally disrupt your hormones, so no reduced-fat dairy, baked beans, nor high-glycaemic foods glycaemicindex.com , and only small amounts of fructose.

You may need smaller amounts of fibre until your gut has healed, and eat fermented food that is easy to digest. Have natural probiotic foods such as full-fat Greek yoghurt.

Good luck!

I don't think it's the food as such. Maybe could eat more than I currently am but even when I stuck to the nhs I gained weight. Same as slimming world, weight watchers and everything else. I've just checked my food diary from 2016 and the last time I lost a sufficient amount was March 2016, I had no illness no bloating or gas or anything back then. And since then I've gained 2 stone.

I have been buying next jeans as they have fit me all my life, I've been in size 14 for 3 years now and it's only just this last month that I can't do them up anymore and the ones I can are way too tight x

Have you approached your GP? It may be non food related..?

I was tested for underactive thyroid - all my bloods came back satisfactory.

I shall go back again in the week - I've had enough of being told there is nothing wrong. There must be something causing this. X

I had the same issue, it took me a while to get a hypo diagnosis if that is what it is. When you go to the doctors get a copy of your previous test results and insist on a new test. You can then compare the two and see if the result is trending upwards which could help your case for a diagnosis.

Try the thyriod uk forum they have a symptoms list, I printed this off and ticked what I had. They can be really helpful especially if your blood result is borderline.

I have been through this myself so can completely understand the frustration of eating little and gaining weight. It is a good idea to get thyroid disordered ruled out however I cannot stress enough the importance of getting a copy of the results. I was at TSH 4.6 they would not treat me till it got to over 10 and the normal range stopped at 5.0 . I had to wait as I did not know any different, I wish I had found the forum alot sooner.

I hope you find some answers soon. xx

Fructose intolerance? Leaky gut? Do you have any auto-immune symptoms? Keep persevering with your GP for a diagnosis.

Can you see another GP? Your symptoms are consistent with IBS or even coeliac, both of which are manageable with the right diet but you need a correct diagnosis. If you can't change GP what about keeping a food and symptom diary for a couple of weeks so you've got something specific to show the Dr when you next go. Good luck it's horrid feeling like that, I can avoid those symptoms almost completely if I avoid the offending foods (high fodmap veg / pulses)

I have a food diary dating back from January 2016 but doctors thinks I'm exaggerating most of the time but I will be going back x

I decided many years ago not to let my size and weight spoil my life. If I felt well and could do the things I love to do - cycle, swim, ride horses, play racquet sports....then my body was doing what it was designed to do. My attitude is take me as you find me...if you don't like it, it's your problem, not mine!

Most of my life, I have been fluctuating between size 16 and 18, occasionally a size 20. I buy stretchy jeans (Bon Marche do good ones) with loose tops and ....most important...avoid mirrors!!!

Having said that, when my weight has hit the level where my knees hurt and I can't run up a hill or get out of the bath...then it's back on the calorie counting - around 1500-1700 daily, keeping a diary of all my food and drink. Eat a sensible range of foods, avoiding too much in the way of carbs, fatty foods and high sugar foods, including alcohol. (It does come off - I lost 3 stone last year, but still working on that last stone).

Your health is what really matters.....and I would be thrilled right now to be your size, even if it is in a size 16 pair of jeans!

Oh yes I completely agree, it more the feeling ill everyday I'm fed up with, losing weight would just be a bonus as there's no reason as far as food is concerned for me to be gaining all the time when I eat healthy and exercise.

I just can't put up with the bloating and cramps it's happening another more regularly than it ever did before and that is what is stopping me from going out. X

Love this post. Positive head on, granted not easy at times

I'm going to spkn to my psychiatrist in a fortnight about coming off this drug. I felt much better after a good cry. Thee were soggy Hankins everywhere 😉 best wishes 💜
