Daily Diary Saturday 23rd September

Hello Daily Diarists!

I hope you’ve all had a good week so far. Mine has been pretty good, despite not actually logging on the Daily Diary very regularly this past week.

And I must apologise now for not responding and admiring your delicious menus, but we are off on holiday tomorrow morning, and I shall be posting this early this evening as after that, I shall be packing!

So - welcome to anyone posting for the first time, just look at what the others do and follow suit. And do please comment/ask questions or just “like” what others have written. That way we all learn something.

Well, what have you planned to eat and drink on Saturday 23rd September?

Tell us what your calorie intake should be and the total calories that each meal contains, what exercise you have planned and if you have a tip to share, please do share it!

My menu for tomorrow is very vague at present – breakfast will be fresh figs and flat peaches (yum!) with Greek yogurt and a drizzle of honey.

Lunch is en route to Alnwick at a posh hotel, as we plan to belatedly celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary there.

And evening meal will be in our self-catering accommodation when we get there, maybe eggs or something light.

Last time I went on holiday, someone gave me this tip – always ask yourself if that cake/pudding/portion of chips or whatever is really going to be worth it, and if the answer is no, then don’t have it. That’s going to be my motto this week, as I am so close to goal now.

My tip for the day – success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in, day out.

Thanks for hosting TT especially when preparing for your holiday. Have a great time and congratulations on the anniversary.

Today didn't go as planned because I didn't feel hungry until 3. I know - !!! Just as well as the mash my husband made to go with the chicken chasseur was made with cream. Very yummy though.

Tomorrow

B - Tea and fruit, yoghurt 200

Mid morning coffee in town

L - eggs of some sort and avocado -300

D - left over chilli and yoghurt - 400

S - fruit, milk for drinks, yoghurt - 250

Some spares for the evening.

Aiming for 1400 this week.

Walking around

in reply to wakywoo

Yum, someone else with chilli!

Ceals profile image
Ceals in reply to wakywoo

Bet the chicken chasseur and mash was divine. I worry much less now about eating everything if I am genuinely not hungry.

Eggs, of any sort with avocado is a winner for me.

Have a wonderful holiday! Alnwick is a lovely place.

Today has been good, especially the chocolate and raspberry torte for pudding! The in laws are taking the kids home with them tomorrow, so husband and I have a very rare evening to ourselves. I think we'll be going out for dinner, I really fancy a fiorentina from Pizza Express.

B - mushrooms on toast, 190

L- sweet potato and pepper fritatta, 390

D - dinner out, 900 plus pudding at home (the last bit of torte!) 250

Slightly under allowance.

Fab tip and love the poster Hidden . Have a fab holiday and wonderful wedding anniversary celebration.

Plans didn't go to plan today - hubby decided I was too tired to cook the chowder - he was probably right. A quick trip to M&S and we have a delicious fish platter, so its chowder tomorrow.

Brunch: 2 egg omelette, 20g butter 100g spinach and shiitake mushrooms, 30mls cream, 50 g feta cheese, avocado. 904 cals

D: The chowder I should have had on Friday! 661 cals

carbs 34g; Fat 118g; protein 86g

Hope to pick up some ideas and tips from all the lovely DD folk.

Have a great holiday TT and thanks for hosting while you're so busy packing. Love the poster and very good tip.

Tomorrow I'll be eating out at Jamie's Italian for son in-law's birthday. I'll look at the menu later and try to choose the least fattening!

I'll have a big breakfast of 2 rashers of bacon, 2 poached eggs, mushrooms and tomatoes to fill me up for the day. 315 cals

No lunch

Dinner with red wine, and a spoon to taste everyone else's puddings! I'm guessing about 1,000 cals

Drinks throughout the day - black tea.

Tip - If you can't be good, be careful.

Have a great Saturday everyone.

Im on a 15 hour shift today so

B) Oats so Simple pot of porridge oats filled to the brim with strawberries and grapes 302 cal

L) Ham, egg and cheese salad ..313 cal

D) chicken, vegetable and pasta casserole left over from yesterday's dinner cooked in my pressure cooker (same for tomorrow) 442 cals

I also have a fruitopolis yoghurt for snack and will have a couple of reduced fat rich tea biscuits with a cuppa when I get home from work at 9pm.

Total calories 1225

I have also already done over 5k steps (have a fitbit) so will easily get my 10k in today.

I always struggle with food for work so today I ordered some ready meal things from Muscle Food ..worked out at 2pound a meal ..just need to add potatoes, pasta or rice with each one.

My downfall is always bread and pastry so avoiding them like the plague but will treat myself to one item I really really want as a reward once a week. (Can't wait for my sausage roll Thursday lol)

Hi, can I just say that this picture is amazing and I love the quote :) Thanks for hosting Hidden

I've had a tough few days due to an argument with my parents and for the first time since May, I have been comfort eating. I've been determined to start again today now that it's all out of my system. I'm not really back to counting calories just yet, mainly because I'm physically and mentally exhausted but I'm trying to eat three meals today and gradually work my way up again, so apologies if it doesn't seem like I'm eating enough. Arguments tend to knock a lot out of me.

Breakfast: Overnight oats with skimmed milk, yoghurt, a little honey, chia seeds, strawberries and bananas.

Lunch: Leftover overnight oats (not the best thing I know, but it's better than eating nothing).

Dinner: Chicken salad with a little bit of blue cheese and maybe a yoghurt afterwards.

Hopefully, tomorrow will be a better day :)
