Tall Enough to Carry It!

Hi I'm a 64 year old 6' 5" male weighing in at just under 21 stone. I took part in a Counterweight program about 2 years ago and proudly got down to 18 stone and feeling very good in the process. I have had 2 total knee replacements 1 year ago and have struggled with my weight since and need an incentive to start me on the correct road again. Unfortunately my local surgery is not doing Counterweight anymore and as I live on a small island I don't have access to other facilities, hopefully I will benefit from this site?

Hello and welcome to the Weigh Loss Forum Smiddy 😊

Well done on losing over 3 stone 😊 I'm sure that must have helped with the surgery and recovery. I can understand living rurally although an island must be totally different! The internet and groups such as this are very helpful 😊

I'd like to invite you to join our Newbie Club, which we hope will be a good place for you to connect with members, who are also just starting out. Here is the link

healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

Please follow the link and introduce yourself to others newbies in the reply box on there. I suggest you read the information carefully as it contains lots of helpful suggestions and links to the NHS eating plan etc 😊

If you have any questions please just ask.

Good luck in your weight loss journey.

best wishes

Anna

Hi Smiddy . Welcome. One of the reasons I joined this is that I live in a remote area and have no "fat clubs" like SW of WW anywhere commutable to where I live. This group is certainly helpful for me, as one of the main things I used to get out of the "fat clubs" when I lived near them was just the discipline of weighing in publically once a week and the opportunity to share progress / ideas / comments and support each other on our similar journeys. You can do all that here from the comfort (and remoteness) of home ! So welcome and good luck. Keep sharing your progress / weight loss journey with us all.
