Hello and welcome Hidden 😊

We are not medically trained so I can't comment on your epilepsy or any eating plan that claims to help reduce fits 😕 However, a good balanced diet will have lots of other rewards . Please get advice from your GP though before making any changes to your diet.

Please go along to the September Newbie Club here: healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

Introduce yourself to the others and tell us a little about yourself 😊

Best wishes

Anna

Hi there Hidden I fully understand what you are meaning about wanting to reduce fits because I have epilepsy as well and I have between 11-18 seizures every month so will always be here for you with all of this. How many seizures on average do you seem to have? So far I have not found any of these foods are either reducing or making my epilepsy any worse. There are many different fits for all of us people as there are 40 different types of seizures that we can have. I have managed to lose just over 2 and a half stone so far. Hope all goes well for you with this so good luck.

This must be very awkward for you mate, I have had eight in a day before once and know that this was really bad for me that day. Is there anybody that helps you with these and do you go to any groups for epilepsy that might be in your area. If you are unsure if there are any, have a look on the epilepsy action website as these arrange them in most areas for epileptics. With your weight loss side of things do make sure you eat the right amount of calories every day by checking how many you should be having on the NHS bmi calculator as this gives out amounts that are personal for you but the other sites just tend to give out average amounts for male and females. With the NHS bmi calculator make sure you don't eat less than it recommends because otherwise your body will think that you are starving it and will turn what you do eat into body fat and this weighs more than eating the extra calories does so it stops you from losing weight and sometimes puts weight on instead. Hope all goes well for you.
