CLINGING ON..... STICKY PATCH

Mmmm for the last 2 days i've eaten approximately 4,000 calories per day. I have increased my walking to over 10,000 steps.. but I feel so tired that I am now eating more. (It:s not just the exercise that is making me tired, It's my poor sleeping pattern 😣) I have also been socialising (which includes alcohol). I've realised this is the area in which I struggle (socialising AND I have another 3 days to go). I would appreciate any suggestions or experiences in this area to help me stay on track. ☺

Mm the phrase burning the candle at both ends comes to mind.

The problem with drinking alcohol ( more than one glass of wine) is that it may make you fall asleep quickly but you will then wake up a couple of hours later as it inhibits the body from making the hormone seratonin which is needed for a good nights sleep.

You then are asking your body to feel energetic to get your 10000 steps and consuming a large amount of calories. I am sure deep down you know this is not what's good for you and the only way to sort it is to change what you are doing.

How about nursing one glass of wine for as long as possible and then moving on to fizzy water with a slice of lime or lemon and some ice. It looks like gin and tonic and is a lot cheaper! You could even skip the alcohol altogether as it is full of calories.

Once you are back on track your 10000 steps will energise you.

Best wishes

Just you clarify, it's no more than half a bottle of wine 😍but I do realise that is over the recommended units in one day and if I'm doing it more than a couple of times in one week I can see how it could make me feel tired. Thanks for you support. ☺

Tiredness makes you hungry, that's biology, but what you eat to replenish and nourish your body is choice. Maybe try eating substantial, nutritious meals before you go,out socialising.

With regards to drinking, I agree with pcrw about damage limitation, alternating fizzy water etc

Remember you are there for good company and fun, everything else is secondary 😊

True! Sometimes we get caught in the moment, have one glass which leads to 2😊 I think I just need to be more mindful.

Don't feel bad. Just get started. Set your mind to it and you can do it. After a day or two you will feel so much better. After a week with results you'll be so excited and keep going. Join a weigh in day and strive for 1-2 pounds per week. The time is gonna go by anyway, you mind is well be thinner. If you just try you will be successful. I promise. Just do it!!! Can't wait to see your weigh ins.

Maybe cut back on the amount you socialise, or finish your socialising evenings slightly earlier. I have never been any good at drinking alcohol (I have tried😃), it just makes me feel awful and definitely affects my sleep. I go to sleep quickly but wake up an hour later with my head racing and can't get back off. My sleep pattern is not great and hasn't been for a long time and the more tired I am the more I 'wanted' to eat. Since I have changed what I eat, I have found that I don't feel so tired and my sleep has improved as well.

So maybe cut back on the wine and look carefully at what you are eating, Is it carb full, that was my 'go to' when I was tired but now I try to be more mindful.

I agree with Hidden , you just have to start. Write yourself a plan of action, seeing it written down may help, like making a Contract with yourself.

Wishing you good luck :)
