Orlistat!

Hi there! Is anyone using or have used Otlistat and can tell me a bit more about it please?

I was prescribed it the other day but I can't really find much on what I should and shouldn't eat and just how much fat I should lower my intake to due to the 'accidents' lol

If anyone could help I would really appreciate it and would love to hear some success stories too! ☺️ X

Hi Georgieporgie1

Welcome to the weight loss forum.

I have no experience with Otlistat so can not comment.

Take a look at the Welcome Newbie post in the Pinned post section at the right hand side or at the bottom if your on a mobile. Have a look at the nhs 12 week plan, many members have had success following this plan. Use the BMI checker to work out your daily calorie allowance. Take your measurements at the start together with a photo so you can see the changes on the days the scales don't move.

Below the Pinned posts are the Topics where members share a range of weight related subjects.

Have a look at the Daily Diary which you can find on the Home page in Events. It is where all the members are sharing their daily plans on what they are eating and any exercise they are doing. This thread will give you some ideas on how to start.

We have daily weigh in's so why not come along and join us today. You can find the weigh ins on the Home page in the Events section on the right. Just click on the post in Events and record your start weight and any loss/gain or maintain for the week.

You may notice that members have a grey box next to their name, these are achievement badges. All new members have a "newbie" badge to begin with.

Please note if you are using the new HU app it does not have all the forums features on it, so we suggest you use the full website version.

To get the most of the forum be active, share tips, recipes and experiences. Read some of the posts they are very motivating.

Have a good first week.

Rose

I lost 3 stones on it, it's amazing but lower your fat intake, you'll only make the mistake once! I'm not sure if there are any official guidelines, there might be if you google it. However, takeaways and other fatty junk food should become a thing of the past😂 Very best of luck to you, you won't regret it.

Thank you! I'm starting them today. I had a festival on Saturday so didn't think it would be a good idea to start before then 'if you know what I mean' 😂

How long did it take you to lose 3 stone?

Very wise. It took about 4 months, they make a real difference if you focus. Worth the effort!

Oh wow, that's great! Hopefully they work that well for me.

I have taken my first one this morning and really hoping I don't suffer with terrible side effects haha.

I know that I obviously have to lower my fat intake but would you mind giving me some kind of idea on what you ate?

Also I am coffee obsessed am I still okay to drink it but maybe with skimmed milk instead?

Thanks x

Your doing great great. Keep going!

Hello. I have taken Orlistat 120mg (purchased from meds-pharmacy.com) for a week and have avoided fat in order to minimize side effects. I have lost about 2 kg without exercising. Really pleased with how fast the weight has come off so far. I'm still about 34 kg overweight so I still have a long way to go. I can't wait to lose that weight

Hello Colourfull500

Good luck with the medication, however, the post you've replied to here is quite an old one, so might not get picked up by the original poster.

Having said that, you're here, and it's a great supportive environment with a number of different groups and lots of people using low carb as their way of losing weight. Hopefully, if you have a look around (I've added a link to all our current groups at the end of this reply), you could find groups to help you on your journey.

The best thing to do is to have a look, and if you have any questions, just give us a shout.

Good luck🍀
