Are there any when on here? I am a very overweight short little man who needs to shift some of this blubber!! I have done SW many times before and have lost weight but then I relapse and put it back on again. I work in an office and I am very unfit and weak due to an illness. basically I need help. Are there any gents out there who have been in a similar position and are on a successful journey out of it(I hate that term!!). Please feel free to comment ladies.

Morning KernowEd

Welcome to the weight loss forum.

Take a look at the Welcome Newbie post in the Pinned post section at the right hand side or at the bottom if your on a mobile. Have a look at the nhs 12 week plan, many members have had success following this plan. Use the BMI checker to work out your daily calorie allowance.

Have a look at the Daily Diary which you can find on the Home page in Events. It is where all the members are sharing their daily plans on what they are eating and any exercise they are doing. This thread will give you some ideas on how to start.

Below the Pinned posts are the Topics where members share a range of weight related subjects.

Take your measurements at the start together with a photo so you can see the changes on the days the scales don't move.

We have daily weigh ins so why not come along and join us today. You can find the weigh ins on the Home page in the Events section on the right. Just click on the post in Events and record your start weight and any loss/gain or maintain for the week.

To get the most of the forum be active, share tips, recipes and experiences. Read some of the posts they are very motivating.

Have a good first week.

Rose

Good morning KernowEd 😊

First things first, isn't 'pillock' a great word? .... 😂

There are many 'failed' slimming club members on here, (myself being one of their number 😳), who has bought the (reduced size) tee shirt, only to pile the weight on again ... and then some!

This is a far more relaxed environment to that of a slimming club; no public weigh ins, and no one asking how much you're going to lose for next week!

This is a great forum, filled with lovely people who are cheering you on to reach your goals.

Good luck! 😊

Hello there, KernowEd hope you are ok. Do you even know how many calories you should be eating as a start and how many you are currently having. I used to think all my weight was due to me working in office when I used to but this had nothing to do with it, it was never eating enough. Check this out on the NHS bmi calculator as this gives personal amounts for each person info but the others tend to give average amounts. When I looked up how many I should have I was shocked because it is much higher and wider amounts to eat between than I thought and more than I was then eating. This was actually why I was putting weight on a lot. If you don't eat enough your body thinks your starving it and turns what you do eat into body fat and this weighs more than eating the extra calories does so it stops you from losing weight and sometimes puts weight on instead. Please don't make this same mistake. Good luck with your journey.
