I use it now and again but prefer pen and paper, it's an excellent App but always double check the calorie content / weight of portion 😊

The NHS calorie checker is also very good.

Thank you - think note book and pen maybe the way forward for me too - always forget to log into the apps then it's game over xxx

I've been counting calories for over 40 years so have always written them down, I guess it's just what I've always done, apart from this time it's working!! Lol 😂

I didn't use MyFitnessPal to start with, but am doing now, mainly because I want to know more about the nutrient balance of my day.

I am also in the position of being content at the moment to take a bit of a chance with some of the calorie values - some information on that site is correct, some is not as IndigoBlue61 says. There is a barcode scanner on it though - that's pretty cool.

Personally, I like MFP, have used it since the start of my weight loss journey, all way through to reaching my target, and since then during 2 years of maintenance. It's where I record my calorie diary, and my weight graph . However, in terms of forum and cyber-friends , this NHS site is for me!

I signed up to using Nutracheck which has an online page and an app and which is not free - costs around £7.99 a month if I remember rightly. An excellent and easy to use site with lots of support. It also has its own forum but I found the people using the NHS forum were more in my age group and could relate more to my particular difficulties. Whilst I was using it properly, I lost weight...and when I stopped logging calories, my weight loss ground to a halt too....so can definitely recommend it for keeping you on the straight and narrow path to success!
