The answer I have been looking for...?

Hello all. I've not been around for a while due to the problems I had been having with crazy hormones (plus the small matter of moving house - time consuming!!). So, before the house move I was getting increasingly despondent with a hormonal cycle which was becoming increasingly erratic and seriously hampering my weight loss efforts. I knew I needed some help (having discounted anything serious medically via my GP), so last week I went to see a nutritionist (or my new best friend as I like to call her!!). She was brilliant and through a symptom questionnaire and appointment has pinpointed the cause(s) and put in place a plan to get me sorted. I am so happy and relieved to know that a. I'm not going mad b. there is a reason my weight was not shifting (not just related to my love of a savoury snack...) and c. I can fix it fairly easily increasing food I already like (yes, increasing food - WINNING!). What a revelation! I know 'alternative' solutions are not for everyone, however nutrition is fairly fundamental to all of us and something that can be used to help many 'medical' issues and symptoms. I am at the beginning of a three month quest to improve my digestion and balance my hormones and hopefully improve my overall health and wellbeing. I will try and update as part of my weekly weigh in to let you know if it is working or not and we will hopefully see in October at my follow up appointment. Here goes...

Hello TheJuggler and good hear from you 😊

I'm delighted you have found some answers and I hope things work out for you. Please do keep us posted, as well as any more information about what foods to eat and which to avoid.

Thank you IndigoBlue61 For me at the moment I am low in fibre, magnesium and essential fatty acids. Have to boost oily fish, nuts, seeds, avacado, nut butters, etc plus apples, oats, wholegrains for fibre and dark, green leafy vegetables. Nothing to avoid but may have to look at wheat and dairy if no improvement. We will see. Am already slightly addicted to smoked salmon pate, avacado and rye bread! Totally delicious. Is good to be back. I forgot it was weigh in yesterday so will double up next week.

I hope it works well for you, TheJuggler . In desperation (low energy levels) I consulted a nutritionist 3 years ago and have always been very glad I did. Very best wishes.😊
